Long time study the possibility of retrofitting light assist in VW POLO, but do not know how to activate (20) high beam assist in the gateway with vcds. Then, also should be selected its activation in the BCM.
Our gateway is integrated into the BCM, except Vw Polo with start/stop system that have a separate gateway.
Is necessary to have leveling unit lights, automatic lights, dimming mirror with camera ...
On the other hand I do not know if the lights stalk is valid. I believe not.
Must be use the CAN line (adding two cables), this is easy.

Hi Ciclo,
Have you deleted the option to PM you?
I have finally managed to install the Shark antenna. It looks really nice, it looses some reception but i think is the price to pay for having a good loocking car
I will send you some pictures.
Thanks for the brico.. was very clear!!

Yes, I deleted the private messaging. I receive many private messages asking the same questions and prefer to be in the forum so everyone can have the information.
Good news, you got shark antenna, I'm glad. Mine (OEM) do not lose any reception.

But finally i did it with the original VW antena doing the swap of circuit inside following the brico.
I just have a question.. is it possible or do they sell any falkra signal amplifiers? If they do could you offer us the link please?
Muchas Gracias Ciclo

My antenna is the diversity system. Guess that's why I do not lose reception.
Diversity system consists of two antennas to capture radio waves from any direction.
One is the rod antenna and another is the heated rear window.
The heated rear window antenna has an amplifier and a suppression filter.
I do not know a specific amplifier volkswagen rod antennas.
An image for clarify further:
Therefore, there are two plugs together for radios with antenna diversity system. If you have only one plug do not have the diversity antenna system.

Hello Ciclo again,
Thank you for your advice.
I dont think my unit have the diversity system that you are refering to..
But i found this other option.. do you think that could help to get better signal?

In the link that you write, do antenna plugs correct? Show me a picture of your current antenna connections.
I guess you get some improve reception on your radio but I have no experience with these amplifiers.
In any case, if you have installed the original electronic circuit your rod antenna and all welds are good, at least you should have good radio reception in the city and surrounds. In mountainous terrain is likely lose reception radio. Having no diversity system the reflected waves in the mountains take different directions than your current antenna shark is not capable of receiving. Anyway, almost everyone, even with oem antenna reception is lost also.

No..it may look like a separate peice (if your talking about it as a full spoiler) But they are one peice...even the normal 6R bumper
The black bit however im not sure about that...you will need to experiment

Thank you very much for your answer Ciclo!! i always appreciate it!
I had installed the original electronic circuit... but when you say welds are good.. i weld it back to the 2 points of conection but im not sure if i put too much 'estanyo' on the 2 points and thats the reason the reception is not so good. Also when you says install the rod antenna, what you are refering to? (i think you mean 'install the original electronic circuit from your rod antenna' is it?) I will try and weld it back again and see how is the rececption and if doesnt improve i will buy one of those amplifiers.. they are just cheap and have the right conections.
One last question is does it matter the thickness of the cable that you weld on to the top of the circuit that makes as a antenna? also is there any way you need to tide this cable inside of the fin shark antenna?
Muchas Gracias Ciclo

I hope you have a nice weekend and eveything is good with you

raul_sbd:
Yes, I was referring to the original circuit.
I soldered a copper wire of 2.5 mm in thickness.
What is important is the length. Is determined by the wavelength that has to receive. 15-20 cm is sufficient.
