I haven't noticed a pop, but during the first 4 days of ownership I've twice had issues with no volume through any speakers when switching Media functions.
After some time of random button pushing, it then sprung into life.
I've tried all ways to get the Bluetooth to work on incoming calls with my iPhone 6. It works fine with outgoing calls, but pure silence if someone dials me. I've re-paired, deleted, updated iOS, reset etc several times, but no joy.
To make matters worse though, I then find that my wife's Samsung Note 4 works fine with both in and out calls, and also displays callers image. My iPhone works fine in my Merc, but won't display images in the GTI. Since my wife's phone works, I guess I'll find it hard to prove a VW fault with this issue.
Then tonight, just when I though my only issues were with the Media System, the stop-start failed to restart at rush-hour traffic lights. I couldn't restart until I'd removed the keys from the ignition and then done a normal start. Has anyone else had this issue? I have a slight suspicion that the parking sensors somehow disabled the restart, since when I tried to replicate the incident in my drive, the car wouldn't restart with the sensors bleeping.
Maybe this is the last time I'll buy a car from a dealer 300 miles away!! (time will tell how obliging the local dealer will prove to be)

Encountered my first issue tonight...
Started the engine but something didn't feel right as it juddered into life. Turned it off and tried again - same thing. Waited about 5 minutes and it stopped.
Drove around the block and it seemed okay at around 20-30mph. So took it on the dual carriageway and between 40-60mph, it really struggled. About a minute after getting on the dual carriageway the EPC and engine management lights came on.
Nursed the car back home and kept the windows down to listen to noises and there seems to be a slight turbo whistle which I've never heard before.
Could it all be related? Regardless, I think a trip to the VW doctor is in order.

Humbermart . Years ago I bought a new vw miles from where I live. Warranty is a warranty and any issues were sorted by my local dealer and happily.

Humbermart, I did encounter a similar problem to you in that the car didn't start up in traffic with the auto stop-start. The media system did display "start normally" or words to that effect so I didn't need to take the key out of the ignition to restart it. Can only assume that if there isn't enough 'charge' in the system then it won't restart normally but who knows! Only happened once so far.

Am very interested to hear your thoughts - if it does boost the power as much as it claims to it must make a big difference!

ive done some tests today on a few different modes, and yes there is a more pull for sure!
i was getting used to the power, but today I got that feeling of your head being pulled back.
I was hoping it might add more power low down but so far, on the maps i have tested slightly it seems to be more mid range and on one it kicks in about 5k which is a good feeling!
So far so good, install was easy two plug connecters on top and one under neath, didnt even have to take the full skid plate off to get at it.
Not good for front wheels though, not done many hard starts

Quick Question!
I have my GTI and I love it. Can I ask though, anyone who has the rear view camera, can you see the faded number plate on the screen?
Cheers

Sounds good, are you going to get it tested out to see if it's giving the full 248bhp/400torque? Has it impacted on your economy too much? And sorry for sounding stupid but what's a hard start?
Based on how you get on with this will probably decide whether I go for it or not once I've done a couple thousand miles to run it in.
