Have you saw there exhaust system,?? That's cheap , I had a mugen all carbon fibre intake on my fn2 civic type r and it was triple the price [emoji15][emoji15]

Actually I take my comment back, considering the VWR intake I got for my old polo was £330, this looks much higher quality so I guess the price is justified.. Couldn't bring myself to spend 3x that though!! Haven't seen their exhaust, will have a look.

Cheers for the quick replies. I noticed it today for the first time but I'm sure it wasn't like that when I got the car. Its not a big deal but its just one of those little niggly things I suppose. I'll have a look at it tomorrow.

The car is incredible though can't believe how much pull you get in each gear!

ive done some tests today on a few different modes, and yes there is a more pull for sure!

Sounds good, are you going to get it tested out to see if it's giving the full 248bhp/400torque? Has it impacted on your economy too much? And sorry for sounding stupid but what's a hard start?

Based on how you get on with this will probably decide whether I go for it or not once I've done a couple thousand miles to run it in.

No plans for it unless it happens at some sort of event, DTUK are a reputable company I did plenty of reading up, and my mate at work had one on his R.

so far I think its slightly better when just going about I can easily go 1st>3rd>5th, but i spent more time pushing it today.I think more time is needed to answer this.

By hard start I mean accelerating hard from standing/0-60

I'm not sure if you guys use winter tyres in the UK, but what size would you recommend for the GTI? In the VW brochure for Polo GTI they suggest alloy Flair 6J x 16 ET 40 + Pirelli Snowcontrol Serie 3 195/50 R16 88H XL, but it's bloody expensive. There is also an option going for steel wheels 6J x 15 ET 38 + Pirelli Snowcontrol Serie 3 185/60 R15 88T XL, which is more than half cheaper. Will the 15'' fit?

Read the manual for the first time tonight, and now I'm confused about the 'Sports Performance Pack' that I believed mine to be fitted with (as I have paid the extra £245).

Mine has the Sports button, and certainly affects the dampers, but I've struggled to detect any noticeable difference in both the steering and throttle response.

I had however convinced myself it made a very minor increase in engine noise (but did puzzle at how marginal this seemed to be).

Now I read in the manual that there are two types of 'Sport' button, (1) 'Sport Select Suspension', and (2) 'Sport Performance Kit'.

I thought mine had the Sport Performance Kit, as I've never read about any other option on the UK spec cars, and it is the only one on the configurator (and matched by the same price on my order/invoice).

However the button in mine has the additional damper logo as shown in the manual for the 'Sport Select Suspension', not the 'Sport Performance Kit'.

So have I been short-changed? Is this a new MY2016 feature that has sneaked in by stealth without being picked up by the press/dealers/configurator yet???

Or is everything fine, and I'm just not feeling the steering/throttle changes?

Any comments/clarifications much appreciated......

Humbermart, I think these are two separate things. Sport select is your sport button which firms up the dampers, steering, sharpens throttle response and pumps artificial exhaust noise through the speakers. I think sport performance is available for all GTIs. My dealer showed me how to change the traction settings to 'sport' which basically disables most of the traction. I haven't used this as I don't want to end up sideways in a ditch! Happy to be corrected by anyone with more knowledge on this subject.

Has anyone lowered their GTI yet? The standard ride height looks wrong in my opinion. Been looking at Ebeich springs, I'm assuming the 6R Springs will fit?

I know a guy who put on H & R 40/50 lowering springs and he's quite happy with the stance/ride. Pretty sure they're 6R-fit as the suspension has been carried over from that car.

Thanks for your suggestions NB but this issue is not to be confused with the traction settings or ESP.

I went in to the local dealer today and quizzed them. They weren't aware of any other or new option regarding the Sport button. But then.....

I asked if he could check my cars spec from the VIN no. and he duly printed the listing.

He was surprised to find that my car WAS listed with a 'strange' option that didn't tally with any others he'd seen or showed on their sales iPAD.

It did refer to an option of 'Sport Select Dampers' and he just scratched his head and suggested I better talk to my supplying dealer.

Seems bizarre how these specs can vary. I also wonder now about my CMS and why can some (even without the Car-net / App Connect option) see menu settings for such without having paid the £100, yet mine displays no evidence of either.

Whilst in the local dealer, I decided to bite the bullet and order the Kenwood/Garmin Satnav upgrade. They are due to fit it on Thursday so I'll report on how worthwhile that option seems in a couple of days.

Oh i have my 6R 1.4 2013 lowered with H&R 35/55mm and its much better than the stock. Sits really nice and feels alot better to drive.
