If that's the case I had no idea, this is my first VW- I spent £30 on mats for no reason haha, I'll use them as spares.

I've enjoyed the sport button as well when I've used it - definitely agree about it being better the faster you're going.

How are you getting on with the box mate, really tested it to the limit yet? :D
Think ive found the best mode for the car, it shoves the power in about 2500 rpm which is helpful when trying to nip in spaces but late enough not have the wheels spinning madly.Mad with sports mode on too!

still no mechanical issues at all

Sounds great - how much quicker is it feeling?

You'll be an all Polo familly then! If you don't get a text /email tonight or tomorrow morning it's probably not come off the ship in Grimsby , there's always the Port of Tyne in the North so they might be coming off there in the next couple of days. If not, ill find the next potential ship that they could be on!

Tracker has updated and saying that it's arrived at the UK. Shouldn't be long now - have you got an order number that you punch into the tracker online?

They might be still doing their rounds at the port scanning each car individually as i presume it could take a while to inventory every car that has come off the ship

Either way you haven't got what you paid for so give the dealer some stick! So let us know how you get on.
Thanks NB. Ironically some might argue I've somehow ended up with the best option....

There seems to be few fans of the fake noise, and most of the media tests I've viewed/read have little praise for the 'artificial weighting of the steering' with the sports button engaged. So maybe this 'lite version' that I've ended up with in actually in the interests of continuous improvement, and VW listening to the feedback. (or was that a pig flying by,lol)

If I was more cynical (or a Dily Mail columnist), I may suggest that VW have just discovered that the operation of the 'sports performance pack' involved the use of some rogue ECU code that was also associated with emissions, thus they have had to quietly withdraw it from the spec sheet!
So here's the latest on the 'rogue sports button scandal'.....

Local dealer in Grimsby have been very limp at wanting to get involved, suggesting I should take it up with supplying dealer.

Supplying dealer in Glasgow have been very responsive and helpful, but are a little annoyed that Grimsby don't want to push this through VW.

Supplying dealer are therefore offering to a) refund the £245 option price as a 'quick fix', and then follow the technical query through VW.

Can't really complain about that, but I'm still most interested to know how/why the 'rogue' option was fitted in the factory.

Tweet @vwukhelp with your PO number, you'll only know the name once it's been allocated a ship.

Ive been having a look for you on AIS and there is another ship due in to Sheerness, Grimsby & Tyne this week and has done the same route to the I believed mine to be on. The ship is called the City of Barcelona and due in to Sheerness on the 19th.

My Dealer mentioned that my car came into Grimsby on Wednesday off the ship but my tracker didn't change untill yesterday, so obviously it takes a couple of days for it to change on the tracker.

Hope this helps!
