Starting on the basis that each person is responsible on each change that they decide to do on the car.


Say you have your new T-roc that comes with rain sensor, electric windows and a bcm that is compatible. The car comes without the option to automatically close the windows when it detect rain, but you know how to code this with VCDS, Odis-e or whatever tool and you enable it outside an authorised workshop.


From what you might have read or heard, will something like that fall under the category to void your cars warranty?

I'm not talking about messing the coding, but say your electric folding mirrors stop working because the motor gave up a year after you bought the car.

I fully understand what you mean and it is the concern of many car owners, but I assure you that I have no concerns about warranties, ... I don't know how to say without seeming strange or arrogant (please take account) that my time is more valuable than make use of the warranty because the electric motor of a mirror is broken or does not work and have to take the car to the dealer to be repaired after making an appointment that only the masters of the universe know when it will be possible for them to accept my car for repair.

I buy a new mirror, damper, or whatever is broken and change it myself in a couple of hours ... fixed and everyone happy in time and space.

I have to say that I made use of the warranty (with the warranty expired) for an A3 air intake flap which was a recognized problem, and both Customer Service and the Dealer solved it perfectly. I had to wait for the appointment they gave me, but if I had known the price of the part beforehand I would have repaired it myself without a doubt, without having to think about strange things (occupying my mind) during the wait until its repair... take the car to the dealer, repair time, pick it up, etc ... too long for me.

Golf 7.5 Passenger seat installation after installing the heating elements.

I apologize for the quality of the images, I did not take pictures of the four bolts or the insulation/security system of the airbag connectors while the seat remains removed (cloth tape :) ).

As I did with the 6R, I take the opportunity to vacuum and clean the interior with the seats removed. 🧹

Thank you Michel, everything is on the right track, although I should have all the improvements finished by now, ... I guess I'll finish next week.
However I'm enjoying this overhaul, it's easier than with our Polo 6Rs. :)

We cut the original wire right at the edge of the contact-terminal and strip the original wire enough to crimp the new contact-terminal together with the wire to be added.

IMHO, the best way to splice, attach, join, 'tap', add a new wire ... you can do it for very little money with excellent result. 8)

The following images are from the three connectors on the air conditioning unit. The feed for the USB HUB is added to the climatronic unit feed after studying if possible (fuse, signal, electrical parameters, etc).

First sensations:

This T-Cross is very comfortable to drive (its extensive factory equipments helps), the multifunction steering wheel is pleasant to handle, but I cannot say that it is better or worse than the previous ones like the one on my wife's Golf ... I think at the same level of handling.
In terms of construction it is quite far from the utility cars and closely approximates the Golf mk7.5, ... very good sensations in this first contact according to several relatives. It is fine for large people.

The electric parking brake with all its functions is missing, inside you breathe Golf atmosphere until you have to put the handbrake ... but it's the same feeling that happens to me when I drive my wife's Golf and then the 6R. :lol:

Question on the Mib system in the Golf or the TRoc. Do you connect it to the Internet? What I'm wondering if you have managed to get the VW navigation system show traffic status on the street, like you get on Google maps (green, yellow, red street because of traffic jam).

exantas, it is a VW T-Cross (VW27 -POLO AW- platform), NOT a VW T-Roc (VW37 -GOLF- platform).
Maybe you're joking and I don't get the point of your joke, which I think is great :wink: , but this is the second time I've told you that it is a T-Cross.🤞 :lol:

The VW MIB Gen2.5 navigation system takes into account alerts/warnings/traffic information according to the GPS and the radio station chosen for these alerts, which can be displayed in a specific menu of the infotainment system, and the navigation can be configured to choose alternative routes to avoid traffic jams, etc.
This is also done by my RNS510 which is installed in my 6R since a long time ago.

I don't like being connected while driving for compelling reasons, but I tend to choose the WAZE for real-time 'traffic information'...🤪, although I'm not one of those who interacts while driving...

Once the Climatronic unit is installed we see with the diagnostic tool (VCDS) that we have two or more faults in Address 08. The A/C button does not work/does not light up.

I had to do it twice. The second time it worked after having taken a ride with the car. :? :)
You must modify (without modifying - same value) the adaptation channel indicated for the basic setting.
Clear the faults.

Check that everything works correctly both in the Climatronic Unit and through the MENU for Infotainment system.

If you installed the BCM correctly, you will see that the buttons on the heated seats light up briefly and turn off in about 2 seconds.
In other words, the heated seats do not work.

To operate the heated seats, the values ​​of the following adaptation channels of the BCM must be modified in the same way. Choose the one that suits you best.

AC Compressor First Run-In
Necessary when the Climatic control module (J301) is replaced.

Prerequisites to start the basic setting A/C compressor first run:
Engine at idle
Transmission in Park or Neutral
Do not cycle the ignition
Basic setting was performed for the flaps
Inside blower motor is switched on
Air vents fully open
Load management not active



"AC Compressor First Run-In" Steps:

1- Start engine and allow it to Idle.

2- Go to adaptation and change the values of these two channels to 120s:

IDE01503-Running time of basic setting for compressor break-in,120 s,1  ...120 you must do the process/change even if it already has the value of 120 s.
IDE03176-Duration of compressor run in,60 s,1 ...120

3- Close/Exit Controller/unit 08, Close/Exit VCDS, Turn off the engine, ***Wait between 30 seconds to a minute***, Turn on the engine again,
Open the VCDS again and re-enter unit 08, Go to adaptation and re-enter the original values, 120 and 60 respectively.

4- Go to Basic Settings.

[Basic Settings - 04]
Select IDE02259-ENG167462 "Compressor run/break in: ***automatic start***" from the drop-down list.
[Go!]
Wait 120 sec (2 Min), observe the flashing A/C button light on the HVAC panel.
After the Basic Settings has completed, the A/C light turns off and the process is finished.
[Stop]

Check DTCs. Clear if necessary.
Exit control unit 08.
Check that the A/C button works/lights up.
I'm sure that Ross-tech will be able to debug and explain (wiki) the basic setting for these air conditioning units much better than the one I have done here, ... I just try to help so that my experience may be useful to verify these processes.
The Basic Setting process with the VCP is in the same way and for OBDII there is a good video on youtube (search by part number).
With the VAS5054 I didn't even try because I am in the update process...

G935 is factory installed on VW MQB vehicles like the Arteon, Passat, etc...

The VW MIB Gen2.5 navigation system takes into account alerts/warnings/traffic information according to the GPS and the radio station chosen for these alerts, which can be displayed in a specific menu of the infotainment system, and the navigation can be configured to choose alternative routes to avoid traffic jams, etc.
This is also done by my RNS510 which is installed in my 6R since a long time ago.

I don't like being connected while driving for compelling reasons, but I tend to choose the WAZE for real-time 'traffic information'...[emoji2957], although I'm not one of those who interacts while driving...
Sorry for the mistake Ciclo. I honestly thought you got a T-Roc. I had it in my mind that it was replacing T-Cross in the VW line up. I wouldnt have noticed if you have not pointed it out. The joke is on me :)

For the connection part. I don't want to phaph with the phone when I am driving, that's why I try to get this info on the cars map. I know the car nav theoretically come with this option, so I use an app on my phone.

Not sure if anyone is using the rSAP Bluetooth option to connect to the Internet (or some other method) , so the car get the traffic info.
