That's ridiculous, it's really not a specialist job!! Don't go with any shop that is unsure about it though as I said.
But it shouldn't be that hard to find a garage that does it, as 6.5 is not necessarily classified as a 205 width wheel, they come 195/45 as standard on all RXii 16"s, you've just gotta upgrade to the 40s after that.
I know, very disappointed. Do you have a link to the sizes of the new alloys? Been looking for some winters as the BBS are requiring constant cleaning. Currently after the following:
BBS Colour Concept Interlagos
OEM VW Mk5 SE Alloys
16" VW Monza's no tyres
Found some Ronals with new tyres for £300 which i'm considering, but they don't run with the OEM theme throughout the car.
Also, halfrauds are s**t for online reservation. I reserved some Foliatec Red caliper paint (which I had spent all today cleaning up the calipers) and get there after a 15 min each way travel to find they don't even sell it! Bloody jokers

Right I need some assistance, need to get some figures and number crunching together to see whether I can realistically run these Monza's.
Right,
205/45/16 to 195/40/16 Tyre
ET/Offset - 38
PCD Adaptors 20mm
Can I run these?

Yes you can fit them.
20mm adaptors will make your ET 18, which means the wheels will sit 27mm more out of the archs more than your RXIIs.
For reference my pepperpots sit 3mm further out than them:
Keep in mind they're 15s though

Go for it, mine have come up mint now they have started to dry. Pity i've still got tonnes of the stuff left!
On a side note, does anyone have a picture of the rear of a 6n steering wheel? Also, how can I remove it and refit safely?
