Cheers Lads :D

The K&N didnt show up today so I feel let down yet again! ahwell fingers crossed it will turn up tomorrow.
I'll post some pics up when it arrives but I probably wont actually fit it until after christmas just because of the bad weather.

I'm hoping most people will approve of the new bits from America 8)

UPDATE 22/12/2010

My Tyhpoon finally showed up last week and I must say its an awesome piece of kit, really well made and finished.
I ordered a 6000K H1 HID kit for the full beam upgrade, absolute bargain from Rclick! Thanks again to Alex for the discount code :) Legend!

My headlight protectors arrived last week along with my new valve caps & special item from America :)
I'll get some pics posted up tomorrow of all the items but most bits wont be fitted until this bloody snow clears.

The biggest bit of news I have is that my car is now booked in at JBS Auto Designs for the cams to be installed :)
I have got to pay a 50% deposit in Jan for the parts and the work will be carried out in April/May next year so i'm pretty excited to be getting that done.

The car needs to be prepared first before the install so i'll be getting the manifold fitted and getting a new exhaust system installed early in the new year.
Decided to get rid of the Mongoose system because its just too big! I'll be getting a custom exhaust made in the new year running a de-cat & raceland manifold.
If I can find a 4-1 manifold before April then my plans may change but at the moment i'm just going to stick with the raceland.

If anybody is interested in my current exhaust then please let me know, I'll be selling it for around £150 (cost £380) and its only covered about 4 or 5K.
Its more suited to either a GTI on standard suspension or with lowering springs. Its not suitable for a car riding on coilovers due to clearance issues.

Below is my other 2011 project car :P

Sorry for the lack of update pics! I'll sort that out tomorrow

Let me guess, the 1.8 160bhp straight in the metro?

if its not that then seriously consider it. its amazing fun, with all the usual N/A engine mods you can get about 175bhp, with cams and a few other bits you can grab around 200, in a stripped out metro its amazing fun. We've done it before on a bare budget, bought an old MG ZR with a rear smash, sold all the good bits for parts and kept the engine, amazingly the engine mounts where the same on the metro as the ZR so it fitted in nicely and flew on those tiny tyres :)

Not Quite Chris :)
The VVC conversion is very popular but its more suited to the later MK3 metro's in most cases.
As much as I would like to do that its too much of a classic to strip to bits, I have owned it for 4 years now but the plan is to do a T3 Turbo conversion and bore to either 1293 or 1380cc. Anything over 100BHP in a car that weighs 800KG is going to be fun and the noise that little A series engine produces is soo additive, especially combined with the sweet natural whine from the gearbox. I have got a Turbo bodykit already to bolt straight on it just needs some gearbox work before I can get cracking with this one.

Cheers Bradley :D
Yeah JBS will do a dyno run once they are happy with the custom map and fingers crossed I can get some good figures.
Not been quoted any possible power figures but I would be expecting to see somewhere between 155-160bhp :) maybe more if i'm lucky!

Your welcome to take it for a spin 8)
Iye the american secret will be revealed tomorrow haha I hope I havent built it up too much though

Great update mate :)
Cheers Nigel :)
One thing it will compromise is the idle of the car because I'm going for the 256 race cams opposed to the 244 fast road cams. It basically means it will have a more lumpy idle but will offer more top end power :)

Can't wait to get it done!

Just send you a PM about the Cams Mate.
Iye the Mongoose backbox is just too big and catches all the time, its a shame really because after 4 or 5K it had really settled in well on the car and sounds wicked.

good luck whatever you do mate, turbo would be pretty fun, keep the weight right down as well.

I remember ours was a little later model than yours, T reg i think. theyre hilarious cars to drive when they have a that kind of power.

Yeah i'm really excited to finally be getting the cams done, not many people tend to fiddle with the engines so it will be interesting to see what it produces,
Glad you like the Metro too :D

Thanks alot Chris :)
T Reg? that must have been a really late Rover 100 then mate, again very popular for the VVC conversions.
They are fun little cars to drive at the best of times, proper death traps but still fun 8)
Hopefully I can get it tuned something like your 180bhp Saxo VTS! Now that would be fun
