I might do that too, so maybe we could do it together (lives in THY)

To those who have had their BlueGT's for a few months, what sort of MPG figures are you reporting? Honest John seems to think that real world MPG figures are 69% lower than stated by VW - any experience of this?

Hi Faye
After my earlier comment just after I had bought my BlueGT, I was getting about 47/48mpg. I am now up to about 3000miles now and it had moved up last couple of tanks have been 52/52mpg.
I think you could get close to the 61mpg combined but I think you would be driving very very gently. I'm off on a 150 mile trip tomorrow on A roads, dual carriageway and motorway, so it will be interesting to see what the average mpg over this distance is.

i'm seeing 55 now on my way to work in the BlueGT which has crept up 5mpg, car has done 2,000 miles now
in reality even when i'm driving the thing really hard in an uneconomical manner it hits 40+, if you can keep at a steady 50/60 mph you'll see great figures
it's quite good fun to drive too, so much so i haven't driven my GTI for a couple of weeks

I'm getting about 50-55 in my current car so as long as the BlueGT can keep up with that, I'm happy!

Fuel consumption is fairly decent considering performance. I now have a Blue GT on order, ex demo to replace my Mk6 Golf GTI. Does the Blue GT Polo have the large mph readout on the multi function display, or is this a vcds setting change? Also, for all current Blue GT owners, is the shift to and from 2 cyl mode really as seamless as the road tests claim?
