It was a rover metro mpi, yeah very late, bought it for 600 quid with 35,000 on the clock and in perfect nick off an old lady then ripped it apart.

Saxo was the most fun, but very hard work, unreliable as hell, every week i was fixing something different and i treated it like a baby! but it was worth it for the few sessions of utter madness.

Wouldnt reccomend a saxo or 106 to anyone unless they have a backup car and alot of patience and time to tinker. but they are great cars to learn how to do everything on, mainly because they give you plenty of practice to fix things!

Fair play being T reg that would be a museum car these days haha
180bhp in a Saxo must have been fun! I'm not a fan of french cars really but the power to weight ratio's on the VTS & the 106 GTI are impressive.
They are pretty simple cars though unlike German motors so when something does go wrong its usually easier & cheaper to fix.

Cheers matey :)
I'll get the dyno results and some video's posted up once all the work has been done.
I want it done straight after my next MOT so it should all be completed by early May :)

That was a Sick update to be fair but the best update of the year is probably Craigs (TrottaGTI) interior update, he deffo has the best interior on here.
Attention to detail on his seats is wicked!

Hey, good to hear your fidderling with the original engine, i always find it really interesting, and seeing what people can get out of the engine. great idea with the cams! Im guessing youll be getting new Valve spring, and exhaust valves gas flowed, and such, (sorry if youve mentioned it already and ive missed it). Really looking forward to hearing more and seeing all the work and how it goes :D

Thanks Verity :)
I'm just getting the cams done for the time being and i'll evaluate the power situation once they have been fitted.
The standard power feels great anyway its just its always nice to have a little bit more and I would prefer to try and get more from the Polo rather than just sell it for a quicker car.
Cam's first and if i'm still not happy then Jenvey ITB's may have to be ordered 8)

I just joined up to reply here.. lol

4 Branch manifolds......

AwesomeGTi offer a Ashley 4-1 manifold, very cheap and doesn't need bending to clear the bump like the Chrap raceland ones....

(You may have to join CL to see that)

Nice Polo, would like to see a pic of the K&N kit you have, I'm currently making a stainless inlet system for my Lupo GTI, the BMC stuff is so expensive, and don't gain any power over the std airbox in Lupo experience. There is also a trader on ClubLupo offering a dbilas inlet manifold that will fit your engine, really nice item, cheaper than ITB's too.

Thanks for the info mate :D
I will look into that Ashley 4-1 manifold because they seem to offer more of a performance advantage than the raceland 4-2-1 manifolds. i'll get some pics up of the K&N kit asap for you to have a look at, must say its an awesome piece of kit and would look sweet in any Polo/Lupo GTI engine bay.
I will have a look at that trader on clublupo too reference the Inler manifold :)

http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/product.ph ... 3&xSec=173

Just found the link for the Ashley Manifold which will fit the Lupo/Arosa 1.4 16V sport as well as thr 1.6 GTI.
Doesnt actually state if it will fit the Polo though, I dont know if the Lupo & Polo Manifolds are the same???

The ashley manifold is mild steel too so heat wrapping it would be essential in my eyes

Update 03/01/2011
Here are the pics as promised :) including the american item.

Typhoon :D

Headlight Protectors

New Valve Caps
Image

Seat Covers - I have had these ages now but have never mentioned them
Image

American Import - Can't get these bad boys anywhere! Tried loads of companies in Germany but they just didnt have them available. I had to buy the letter & numbers individual from America but they are the correct size & font so i'm pretty pleased. It will now read.... 6N2 GTI on the back which is what I have wanted for nearly 2 years.

Here's a pic of the car from Saturday on the Denbigh Moors looking filthy :)

I'll get some more pics posted when all of the above are fitted which hopefully wont be too long.
The car needs a good clean to start with because it really is filthy
