When resistors are in parallel, there are many different means to an end, so the total resistance will be smaller than each pathway.
When resistors are in series, the current will have to travel through each resistor, so the individual resistors will add to give the total resistance for the series.

yep. had to look it up again... high school physics were a long time ago.

series: Rtot = R1 + R2 + Rn
parallel: 1/Rtot = (1/R1) + (1/R2) + (1/Rn)

Regarding the 230V inverter, I plan to install 4H0907155D in my boot where I plan to divide SB42 (Cig. lighter) to 3 new Fuse (SB37-Cig. lighter (15A) / SB56-RearUsbPortCharger 3A / SB58- Inverter (???A)).

1. Is this the best way to do it? can the existing SB42 wire cater the additional load? How big the fuse should I put there? 15A+3A+15A= 33A?

2. I noticed, the inverter will have 3 wires. What’s the other wire for? backlighting?


3. Should I install the inverter module and plug point to the right side of the boot? Near the Refuel Tank? or shud I use the left side ?

4. Oh n btw, is the power always on when engine on? Or is there any switch specific for the inverter?

Well to question 1 and 2, most of the diagrams I studied had three wires, GND +30 and +15/bcm. So I'd recommend to use SB42 maybe as the thin wire and use a +30 as a main feed.

To question 3, I did it at the right hand side because there was the most space. I'm not sure whether you'll have the space on the left hand side of the boot.

from the 7e0 wiring diagram as my reference, it seems like both power lines come from the same fuse line (SH10).. hurm.

I guess it makes sense if you take the inverter that belongs to the T6. I took the one from a Touareg, that's the one with +30 and +15
