On the issue about what you get in the GTI if you specify Alcantara seat, I'd hope that people are wrong about dealers taking the "full whack" for winter pack when that car is already spec'd to have LED lights with washers and the option of (heated) Alcantara - which leads to winter pack extras being only heated washer nozzles. In the past, the options list addressed this by saying that certain options came with extras or "less" if that model already had some parts fitted as standard. The dealers having a laugh is one thing, the VW configurator allowing you to pay twice for some items can't be right - although when I was spec'ing up my wife's Polo SEL, some possibilities/combinations did not seem correct - actually Alcantara in an SEL is an very expensive option, I wanted to include in wife's new Polo SEL as my cars have always had it and wife seemed to like it, but in reality £2400 or so, really is taking the p**s!

Just called my local dealer asking if app connect can be retrofitted as I wasn't able to spec my car and they said that they're working on some code to enable it which is good news.. Thought there might be some hardware changes needed but I guess not.

I went to the dealer on Saturday with the Mrs, told her we were looking for a 5 door car, anyway I ordered a new 3 door GTI  Luckily they had one in the spec I wanted roaming around the port somewhere.

Does anyone have any idea how long it might take from port to dealer?

And no, the Mrs isn't really speaking to me.

Send help.

And new member so Hello :D

Ok first problem has shown itself. Tried to lock the car this evening remotely and it wouldn't work. Tried the spare key and no joy. Had to lock it using they key slot in the door handle. No idea why this has happened as it has been working perfectly til now. Any ideas appreciated!

Hi, your profile shows that you drive a Polo 1.4, so part number 6R0 803 663 9B9 is what you need to get your local VW parts place to order in for you (cheap as chips) - it might need a slight bit of trimming of the front edge to let it fit and lock on securely, remember to force/tap it on firmly as if you don't, the next time that you look at the rear of the car, it will have "gone"! There is a lip built into it that should pass over and down behind the towing loop.

RUM4MO you seem to be an expert on these things... do you know the part no for the string that holds the parcel shelf up? Specifically I just need the rubber ball that goes under the parcel shelf that the string goes through. Thanks if you do!

Looks like Apr are nearly finished the map.

They are also looking for a dsg model to do some work on ( guess the map is too much for the dsg box)

It's for the new gti , it's the tow hook under the rear bumper, i need the cover for not an actual toe bar ??

I'm not up to date what the GTI looks like at that area, but I think that if you use the "search" function you should find out what others have used, and yes it is the "tie down" or "towing loop" that I am referring to and not the cover for a towball.

Ok thought I'd do a bit of an update on how I'm goin with the car. Loosened up nicely, do need a few good runs though but stuck around town at moment. My long-term mpg is 29.5 at min lol. Surely I'm not that lead footed. Still have squeak on low speed braking, and also when pulling away from lights or junctions on occasion. Stereo is now set pretty much how I like, enjoying my tunes again. No other problems to report. Loving the power, seats, heater lol and handling/ride setup. And brings a smile with how it looks too, even tho its filthy at min. Be good to hear how others are fairing with theirs
