Mine left the factory on the 3rd of March and was on the Glovis Spring. Hopefully yours made it.
Have you had any updates this morning on the tracker?
No, nothing.

That's what mine says as of this morning. I'm guessing that's 5b?

I'd assume 5b = arrival at Emden. Your car was built a month ago tomorrow and you already knew it was on a ship. A month from SA to Emden sounds about right. Could be with you in 10 days if it doesn't hang around in Emden or the UK port awaiting delivery to the dealership.

I have a question. Are the front and rear indicators LED?

On the GTi+ (or any car with the optional LED headlights) the front ones are LED but not the rear ones (or the reversing lights).

I never understand why they put crappy old bulbs in. Ruins the continuity/look of the car. Is it down to reducing costs.
Bit saved here bit saved there.[emoji848]

Cost reduction will no doubt be a factor as it helps to boost profits. Savings of a few pence on one car is likely to represent a significant saving overall when you consider the total number of cars produced.
Don’t be surprised to see further cost reductions and penny pinching during the lifecycle of the AW model of the Polo - it’s happened during the lifecycle of the mk7 / mk7.5 Golf where there's been a number of small cost cutting measures (there may be others I’ve not listed) - e.g.
- deletion of plastic covers on the Isofix fixing points on rear seat cushion
- deletion of the soft case that used to enclose the car battery
- deletion of under seat drawers
- deletion of plastic trim piece in the boot that used to cover the middle hinge for the rear seat back
- deletion of plastic covers that hide the door mirror fixing screws
- deletion of dual (MPI) injection on GTI and R models and adopting direct injection.
It’s not all one way though, as the Golf will also have benefitted from various spec updates / improvements in certain areas during its lifespan - e.g updated infotainment units, making some options part of the standard spec. There will have been price increases though to reflect these upgrades.

According to the brochure all Polo GTIs come with “LED darkened rear light clusters” - does that not include the indicators?
