Couple of new pics from the weekend after its first mini wash of the year.
Nothing new to report really, I havent got round to fitting any of the new parts yet because of the crappy weather and JBS still havent got back to me either reference the Cams. It wasnt a good clean in fairness, It was a case of getting all the crap off rather then making it look sparkling.
I think the tracking is out again so I plan on getting that sorted as a priority and it also needs an oil change in the next few weeks so that's also on my list of things to do. I'm going for a full 4 wheel laser alignment this time which is £40 at demon tweeks so hopefully that should end my alignment & tracking problems.
I kind of prefer the black VW badge (at the moment) so that's staying on there for now but I do need to sort out some more red piping for the grill, I sprayed painted it last time with lacquer but that didnt work too well so i'll try something different
this time.

Looking nice mate

I like the black badge, works well as the car is black too.
Is £40 about right for the laser wheel alignment then? Mine needs doing too

Cheers Mate
£40 is pretty cheap to be honest, it normally costs around £60-70 at most places but Demon Tweeks do good deals when it comes to tracking, alignment & tyres etc. I should of had mine done when I got the coilovers fitted because I have had nothing but trouble with excessive tyre wear & negative camber so for £40 its going to be money well spent.

Pretty much all any of us can hope for this weather

Definitely prefer the black badge - to be honest I'm not a fan of the red piping either although I do really like the smoothed bumpers
I ran an all black GTI badge for a while then changed back but just blacked the centre of the i rather than have the red i - it's different

bstardchild - Yeah mate the black on black works well to be fair, for the rear badge I prefer it chrome with just the insert sprayed black
TrottaGTI - Cheers fella, your spot on I do need a black rear view mirror

cant believe I still havent got one. I might get mine sprayed up because it does look out of place, same applies for the headlining in my car. All black interior and then white/cream headlining lol
Endi_GTi - Cheers Matt, yeah always worth getting a 4 wheel laser alignment mate because tyres are expensive these days

No mate I never got round to giving it a good wax, It needs lots of parts spraying this year so I kind of lost interest in applying to much attention to the paint.
I should have done it really though

Collinite is top quality stuff though, I will deffo be applying some of it this year

Small Update 04/02/2011
I have just paid a £600 deposit today for the Schrick Cams and they are on order now with JBS.
Total costs can be seen below:
256 Intake Cam - £336.64
256 Exhaust Cam - £336.64
Labour to Fit - £360.00 6 hrs @ £50.00
Custom-Code phase 2 software - £287.88
All prices are inclusive of VAT.
Expensive Job as you can see but its going to be interesting to see how the little GTI gets on running Schrick cams.
I'm hoping to see between 155 & 165bhp and I think thats realistic.
The car is booked in for the beginning of may because there are lots of things that need doing beforehand such as the exhaust, Manifold, Brakes, Service and MOT. Next thing on the list is to replace the existing Mongoose exhaust with a custom Powerflow jobby (hidden tail pipe) and get a 200 cell sports CAT from Demon Tweeks. Next then is to have the manifold fitted and tidy up a few things in the engine bay.
I ordered back my Strutbrace from Neil yesterday so that will be on the car soon too
Other 2011 Summer Plans
- Full Respray
- H&R Front ARB & Whiteline Rear ARB
- Clubpolo custom rear strutbrace
- Ronal LS rims (15x7.5)
- Wheel Spacers 15mm Rear & 10mm Front
Watch this space

You should get the Strut brace soon, maybe even today.
Will be interesting to see the results of a rolling road after the Shricks are in.

Yeah be nice to see what it puts out once the 256 cams are put in, i'll be happy with anything over 155bhp
