It seems nice Ben, bite point is still right at the top... i presume this is a characteristic of the box and the length of travel of the clutch release bearing.

Whole car seems quicker aswell :S

Yeah bite point on mine was very high too despite changing the clutch, I think thats normal for the GTI.
The Clutch on my dads 6N2 TDI is alot heavier but the bite is far lower

What's next on the list now then Joe?

The fishing rod had to go on mine too, replaced with an S2000 aerial off eBay :)
I thought you did the wheels recently?

I am missing certain things about the GTI, in particular the way it looked and the looks you get off other drivers :) they are real headturners.
I was glad to see it go because it was sitting there doing nothing but I still love them, especially black 3 doors 8)

Right well gave the red trim around the mats a Massive scrub over the weekend- still not ideal but better than before. May possible look into getting the outers retrimmed soon.

Next to do is getting the exhaust silenced, currently its just a straight through from catback to backbox which is too loud to hear people talking inside or on motorways.

Just debating whether to get a professional job at 109 all in or Buy a silencer for 45 and go the clamping route....

Thats strange. I've only had the sachs clutch in my car for about two weeks, and its really low. Did you adjust the clutch cable accordingly?

I replaced the whole cable, and adjusted so there is no slack- just a characteristic of the releases bearing possibly!

Just read the whole of this thread and I love everything about your gti Joe! :-)

You done a great job on your RX2's shame bout 1 of the nuts tho but hopefully you'll get it done soon to get the centres done too, what colour you goin? You sticking with the chrome idea?

Love the seats also! You picked up a right bargain there mate ;-)

Look forward to following any other updates :-)

I'm tempted to be cheeky and ask you to detail mine while your down in plymouth lol

Cheers Ash!

i have a plan of attach for the BBS bolt involving a very strong drill bit.... in terms of colour i'm gonna go for the Aerocoat finish i think, im not a fan of bling bling but this colour seems to give a classy not in your face look.

Oh yeah the seats were a steal! although the subframes are slightly butchered due to the previous owner.

Good luck with the bolt on the BBS :-) that's the 1 thing stopping me from doing mine but I know I'll have to do it eventually so I'll crack on in the summer (if we get 1) I Look forward to seeing the wheels when there done!
Mangled subframes ain't good but considering you got them soo cheap it's not bad :-) the pic of the bolster where it was repaired looks so fresh! That would make me wanna get the lot re-trimmed not cheap I know but would look cool.

Is your gti down in Plymouth while your here or back at home?

Yeah Ben, sort of taken a back seat while the car is at home uninsured and wrapped up until end of March. Hopefully that'll all change then though :P

I would love to get them recovered but i quite like the thought of MK5 GTI seats at the mo- don't seem to go for silly money either..
