Lol sorry, my bad for misexplaining. I've got a black disc made up on a CAD/CAM machine with the VW logo engraved on it. However I'm on my second one now as the first faded and went a strange gold colour? My second one is doing the same now!
how much did this one cost you if you don't mind me asking?

Oh, no probs. I think my old Blue Richbrook was starting to fade slighltly. Just under £25 delivered. Very well made. Would look good with your black.

Here's my other new addition, a K&N induction kit.
Engine bay before hand:
Half way through the swap:
Then with the kit fitted:
I'll give an update on its performance soon...

worst place you can put it mate, you want it at the front of the bay! thats probably the warmest part of the car as you should no hot air RISES lol

Yeah I know, thats why i've put on two cold air feeds. Been considering a putting a BMC instead. Just going to see how it runs for now. If I end needing to move the K&N I may as well get a BMC as the only reason I decided on a K&N was that it was easy to instal and didnt need to by anything else, such as breather filters and extra piping etc.

I've also altered the cold air feed on the right, bringing it higher (ablve the other pipes) and slightly closer and taped over the metal car body on the right to stop it cutting into the cold feed pipe, a tip found on here

Whats does the pipe sticking out on the exhaust manifold do?

collects warm air from the manifold to heat the engine up quicker!

I cant see it being that bad. It gets a continuous supply of outside air from the pipe on the right, fed from the hole by the fog light. I cant see theres going to be too much difference moving the filter as the whole engine bay would eventually get hot. And where ever you move it its never going to have as much air space around it as it currently does. The only other option is to get an enclosed filter, ie an BMC, but so far I am happy with the performance of it. Seems slighlty more responsive, especially on these very cold nights and the sound is quite good in the high revs. Nothing too extreme buts its never going to do miracles.

Here's an update on the engine bay. Not much difference just a bit nearer to the cold feeds
And this is where I fed the cold feed from
Think i'm going to replace it with a BMC CDA now though
