I've just emailed my dealer asking if my car shows any updates as I've not heard anything off them about it for over 2 weeks and other people that had the same build week as me have been told theirs is on the Glovis Sunlight, I will be very unhappy if mine isn't as my current car is due a service and first MOT soon and my dealer told me not to bother as I will have mine by then, I've also cancelled my service contract with Lookers!

How long does the ship take to get from SA to Emden?

Looking at the Glovis Sunlight, it left SA on the 8th April and is due to Emden on the 25th, she didn't stop in Spain though like a lot do so about 2 weeks would be a good rule of thumb I would say. Unfortunately it looks like it can take as long, if not longer sometimes, to get from Emden to the dealership!

EDIT - I meant to quantify that with once it is on a ship, they can sit on the dock at PE for a week or so.

Same with my current car. MOT and service came due and VW paid for both. Also had a gearbox issue that they took care of. Car now has 37000 miles on it. Was 25000 when they gave me a part x on it last March. Been assured the deal then still applies. The market value of car has fallen but then again. I have also paid off a further £3.996 on monthly payments. Now I got this knocking noise when I pull away,only audible from 1st to 3rd gear change. VW don't seem overly bothered about it.

Well my dealer has just got back to me, my car does not show as assigned to any ship which means it is highly likely it is still sat at PE docks, for almost a month!

I've emailed him back saying I am now concerned about the service and MOT on my Leon as if the car is still there it will be a good month before I see it and the Leon will need doing, I await his response.

He did say though that he has seen cars appear in Emden that had no shipping info showing for them, I won't hold my breath though!

I’ve received an email today from the dealer telling me that the car is at a uk port, (I ordered it January 2018). I spoke with him on Saturday and he stated that they usually have around 10 days to get it to the dealer

When did you get your "5a" notification Gnome? I got mine on March 28th, surely my car can't still be sat on the dock at PE?

I ave be told many things
Ordered on the 21/03/19
Was all ready on a ship to the uk
Arrived at Emden on the 5/04/19
Then nothing chased VW customer service finally managed to find out
Was on City of OSLO ( docked Tyne ) 20/04/19

Hopefully have delivery by 26/04/19 to showroom

Not Ben that long built like a age due to constant miss infomation and lack off it

Called the dealer who was able to tell me that mine was recorded yesterday as being "at the port of exit", which will be Emden.
Now, whether it made it across on yesterday's crossing or will be coming across whenever the Malacca Highway returns, we are not sure.
At present, said vessel is close to completing it's return to Emden.
My guess is that my order is probably still in Emden and one of the next couple of crossings will be carrying it.
He told me about some other poor guy who ordered last May and still has no build week confirmed, which is bloody nuts.

There could still be hope then, if you get a 5b notification tomorrow or Friday and I don't we will know for sure.

Has any one who’s build was 04 03/19 had any updates to say there car has landed in the uk as i’m Getting a bit fed up waiting now. Since I been with out a car since February and was told I would get my car for Easter!

Same build date as you. My dealer told me yesterday my car is in the UK waiting to get on a transporter.

Hi Wayne,

Think quite a few of us are / where in the same boat (forgive the pun) - Mine was built W.C 04/03/19 - Arrived in Emden 04/04/19 - VW Rang me last week to tell me it had been shipped from Emden to Sheerness 17/04/19 (although as a few of the others I havent actually had the official stage 5c notification or stage 6 to notify its in the UK) - My guess now is as per other cars I have had through VW that I wont hear anything untill I get the oh BTW phone call its ready.....

Hope that helps - feel your frustration mate - I myself have been waiting since January 2018 with what seems like a 100 false promises and made up dates.......
