Hi daydotz, I am not sure I understand what you are asking here? You mean the 1000km test or 625 miles?

I may have it confused 625 / 1000km are these not the same test ?
Yes this is the same test. If your car uses too much oil then the dealer will want to perform the oil weigh test. This is where they drain the oil, weigh it, put it back in, take it for a test drive, drain the oil and weigh it again. If this proves the oil usage is too high this is when you will need to have the rings/scrapers fitted. Good luck daydotz

Have got my car back from the dealer now, have driven it 30 miles and all seems fine. It did feel very quick and responsive but it was always going to after a week in a 1.2 base Polo.

All clean and tidy, so dealer appears to have done the work well, early days yet clearly. Did not see any smoke out the back, so maybe, just maybe this may have fixed it. Won't judge until I have done at least 500 miles though.

Cheers for that, well let's hope so! I had asked for some top up oil which dealer agreed to give me, but it was not there when I checked. I should have made sure it was there before leaving. I am not too bothered though, I am just happy to get the car back, next few 100 miles will be the proof of the pudding as they say! :)

Cheers TT509, well so far so good! But then I have only done 38 miles. It may be after driving the 1.2 Polo but it feels quicker, a bit more torquey. Perhaps it is psychological but it feels like an improvement. :-)

I did a 60 mile round trip this morning with my new piston rings fitted, all seems sweet so far. Love the power after driving a 1.2 for what seemed like years. :D

Sounds like you are pleased to get your cars back so hope all is well. I won't be getting mine back as I am not prepared to go through any more issues. I have decided to go back to a Golf and have ordered a Golf GTI Edition 35 :D
