Jamesbluegt & markc123 - Great pictures guys!

Regarding washing, a good touchless wash solution I've been using is Magifoam by Autobrite. I use it as stage 2 (pre-wash) of my whole routine (around 10 steps), but leaving it on for 10 minutes will get a lot of dirt off the car.

If you really want to protect your paint, I would recommend investing in some decent car cleaning products (mitts, shampoos, polish, sealant, wax etc.) and reading up on methods for washing (happy to share mine if wanted). I'm no expert on detailing but as lame as it sounds, but there are few things worse than seeing swirl marks on a new car.

Anyone currently waiting on a 6C factory order?

Very true tank, I have a good mate who knows his stuff and owns his own detailing business (bespoke valeting - uses all autobrite products) also In my house between mine and my girlfriends brother we have stacked up around £400 worth of autobrite products haha he has even bought a buffer from them and we went and got a bonnet from a scrap yard to practice on. :)

Buffers can do a fantastic job but can also make a mess. I work for a car care company and even I make the odd mistake during testing! Orbital polishers are much easier and won't burn through clear coat. Some of the polishes out there are extremely good at removing swirl marks though.

When washing I use two buckets, one with warm water + shampoo and a cold bucket for rinsing the sponge in. Always wash from top down (then dirt doesn't run onto areas you've already cleaned) and NEVER use the same sponge on your wheels as your bodywork. I personally use Autoglym High Def Wax on mine as it's so easy to use with the damp sponge and you can treat large areas before buffing. I did try a sealant on my previous cars but it just doesn't last in winter and the beading is pathetic in comparison to a proper paste wax. Lot quicker to use though.

Some of what I said might sound obvious, but working in the technical department and answering customer queries as well as developing new products, you soon learn quite a lot of people don't think before using a product or read the instructions!

On the configurator it lets you have both?
It lets you have both on the website, then the dealer will tell you that its not possible when you order. Dealer didn't actually know about the alcantara seats being heated, so it was a nice surprise when my car was delivered.

Oh right ok that's good to know, VW should be more informative on the website. That's now £360 saved on the winter pack :)

EDIT: VW have just said to me you don't get it, strange...

Has to be the best car I've ever had by far, feels like a Polo but much more grown up and nicer than the Golf, the engine pulls like a freight train in 1-3 and sounds lovely and the sunroof is pretty epic. Did drive home with the roof open. Stereo is awesome and I'm pleased to report Mirrorlink document ordered and will be here on Tuesday.

Love it :-) More Pictures to follow when it snows or the sun arrives.

@Doc_House - Those Knight alloys look so damn good, wish they had those for the SEL. Really like the blue as well, saw a few at the dealership today in that colour so it looks popular. Congrats.

FINALLY... I picked up my car today, great drive home (around 100 miles) and the technology inside is really and upgrade from my previous car. It's also got the LED headlights which look fantastic and emit a really nice white light. I'm heading out in a little while so I'll try to get some night shots of the road illumination.

I have one crummy photo I took on my phone as it was freezing outside at the time, I'll get more tomorrow when I give it a good clean.

Very nice! I am jealous of your LED lights, they're not offered on the Blue GT :?
