Can you tell me how you embed inverter? Currently I have this in my trunk..
I was wondering about put this on a tape like this:
to the car body, but this probably will not be too solid..
PS. Your 12V in trunk is OEM? In Poland I never seen OEM 12V socket in Polo..
I seen only retrofits on youtube and on Millo instagram: https://www.instagram.com/p/BNTiQMfBPtR/ but I don't like it

Maybe you should test another battery monitor control unit.
Test with 6R0 915 181 D (...due to the age of your 6R and BCM)

I think it's a bright idea

This for me is the easiest place, I thought about that place but the wires from the inverter to the socket are not very long, about 15cm.
That would mean that the inverter is somewhere hanging and I don't like that. The inverter is now in the hollow space behind the socket. This way, it sits fixed.
The space you mention, I think it is no problem but you need to keep in mind the curvature of the wheel arch too.
I was wondering about put this on a tape like this:

The socket front, it has four points on the corner. I used the 4x N 10730801 to fix it.
The inverter itself, it is clamped and secured in the hollow space

No this is retrofit too. There have been Polo 6R models in 2010, shortly, where it was an OEM option and I think they also fitted it to the right hand side boot trim. It was later dropped. You can still see it in ELSA, sheet 17/2, U5 up to may 2010
For me, it makes more sense to have it on the right hand side, even though it would have been easier on the left side.
On the left hand side, there is the fire extinguisher.
A device that takes up 12V, i.e. a coolant box, is large, and on the left side it would be blocking the fire extinguisher. This for me was the reason to fit it on the right side.
If you look on the boot trim panel, on the right hand side, there is already the circle in the plastic where you should drill.

Thanks for this info @iichel!
You need to have a big fire extinguisher
I will begin installation of the 230V socket when the weather will be better, because I don't have a garage yet..I will begin installation of the 230V socket when the weather will be better, because I don't have own garage yet..
Currently I'm waiting for new 7E0 mirror
I think this year will be great for my 6R

Welp........ I just found a cheap Touareg MK2 wheel + airbag and ordered, I guess I will have to put my original stalk on to avoid button redundancy  Its this exact one: -pic-
Anyway, pretty sure it wont be compatible with my BCM (2012), I guess the buttons will work but the illumination wont. Maybe I can make some hack bringing current from the light switch to the needed pin for the illumination?
Will investigate in ELSA....
Thanks a lot man, you're a boss.
Cheers.
OMG... I'm very surprised. Was not there another model for sale on eBay (more compatible for 6R)? ...
From VW Tuareg? I do not think anyone has installed this type of steering wheel on a Polo 6R. Maybe you're the first.
The backlight will work, but the control unit software will be different. (I guess)
This is the model you bought: 7P6 959 542
and this is the recommended:
Airbag removed.
In the sale I can not see that the wiring for the airbag is included. Wiring for MFSW.
According ETKA would be: 7P6971584A
But maybe this one is compatible:
Ask the seller if the airbag wiring is included.
...and please, ask me first before buying more parts.
Please, post here an Autoscan. Remember to erase the last five numbers from the VIN.
Hahahah, well worst case scenario I can just resell it
I will check if it includes wiring (doubt it) and also post a Autoscan when I get a chance.
If lets say, I install the 7P wiring and it isn't compatible, worst case scenario would just generate errors in the centralita (eng? ), right?
Cheers.
Well poo, this ain't no more.... the wheel got stopped at the ebay Global Shipping Center in the UK for Unacceptable for Carriage - Hazardous Material.
I got my refund but I think the poor seller won't get neither the wheel or the money.

I will take detailed pics/process/scans of my T5.2 along the way and help wherever I can, as most of you know parts do cross over between polo & T5/6

Great work on the BCM change for the T5, I've done exactly the same swap and in the middle of trying to clear the terminal 30 fault codes.
Tried PM'ing you for some offline advice, can't as haven't posted enough.
Right now I just want to clear the terminal 30 codes and not have the other four previously detailed on page 153- What's the critical connections as already have the MFSW connected and not ready for DRl's etc.
cheers

Hi Dave, well done it's a fair bit of work but worth it when it's done, did you add/swap the extra wires?

Hi Adam
I swapped the BCM some time ago, added the can wires from the BCM to the cluster but not got around to the running the additional wires to clear the terminal 30 fault codes, sorting the terminal 30 code by running the two additional wires creates the other codes describe earlier in this thread.
Bought the timer connectors which appear fine for the fuse box side of things, but not the BCM- Did you make your wiring up of does Ciclo's looms?
Do I need to add and remove all the extra wires or just the six relating to terminal 30, hi/low beam etc?
