I currently have a Polo Gti and there isn't a lot in it speed wise against a MK4 1.4 16V, the only gap I was pulling over the hills was under braking and managing to pull away a little coming out the corners as the GTi has more low down torque and I wasn't hanging back I was right on the limit of the Polos grip and had it on 3 wheels round some corners eventually faded the brakes away, mind you this was after the Mk4 had to stop as his brakes looked like they were on fire by the amount of smoke coming off them. A MK4 is a lot lighter than a MK5 Gti and also has shorter gears compared to the GTis fairly long gears.
Mines pulled 132.5bhp on the rollers standard, most 1.4 pull 110bhp ish the 22bhp difference is easily soaked up in the almost 200kg between a GTi and a MK4 1.4 16V (Thats the same as having 3 passangers) They should have put the 1.8T in the Polo Gti !!

Right im not hear to start a slanging match!
I value all commetns on this issue i also value poussou comments as this fella although started off on wrong foot has offered me good help!
Josh as for james well what can i say i explained my probs to him, he didn't want to know to be fair (at the end of the day he's got my money)
He said the problem would be my air flow sensor! He also told me he's remapped 15-20 gti's now infront of my brother and all of his staff ask him that one!! also told me he's done loads of seats! (why would i lie about that???) he also said the problem may be my s**t BMC???
He also said that i could if i wanted have my old chip back but to be honest its mine i payed for it in the first place i should have it now! not in his little workshop!
After all the great stuff thats been said about JBS i thought it would turn out well, i think the service and after service was and is s**t and if i cant have my own views on subjects like this well "Freedom of speech" comes to mind! James should listen to people not take the p*** out of them who are willing to spend alot of money on there pride and joy!! its not funny to take the p*** nor be little people if this happened in a pub or another situation im sure he'd get a smack!!
Plus Why call some product custom if it isn't custom in its first phase???
My rant over!! I respect the views of all on this!! this is NOT a slated msg its MY OWN VIEWS!!

I know that, you are just giving feedback from a product and service that you have received, which i am very greatful for! After all its not like you have anything against them... you just want to recieve what you have payed for and deserve!

How do you know that you haven't got what you paid for if you haven't had your car checked out at a garage yet?
Did your car feel noticably slower straight after having the chip installed?
Sorry to go on, but there could be a hundred and one things wrong with your car that are totally unrelated to your chip.
You have done nothing but complain about the chip since you had it fitted, which seems to stem from the fact you didn't get a dyno run... Are you just p1ssed off about that?
I agree that sometimes James isn't the best "people person", but he's not the sort of person who'd f--- someone over for a few hundred quid.
They won't be at their "little garage" for much longer... It's served them well, but they're moving to much larger premises soon.
As for Custom Code Phase One... Everyone who's moved over from Revo to Custom Code Phase One has said they prefer the later... So make of that what you will.
Like I said, I don't want to go on, but I think you need to get your car looked at by a specialist before saying anything else about it...
If you're right, then I'll apologise to you in public.

Hi
I cannot add any views from James but I can add mine.
On Sunday although we was out with the Custom-Code banners we WAS NOT working.
This was just an outing.
We did not go to sell anything just a day out and decided to take some fliers with us.
There was alot of forums there and it was just socialising.
We work 6 days a week and on the 7th we decided very last second to turn up with the Octavia.
We had very little to next to no sleep.
It was very hot and like most people just relaxing and trying to keep out of the sun.
I did not hear much of the conversasion that went on , but I did hear that when James was told that it would not rev when in neutral that was when he did not really want to carry on with the conversasion.
I did leave after that so cannot comment.
All I can add is that when a Rolling Road was not done then that is when it went downhill.
I would agree with Josh that when A FULL diagnostic is done and EVERYTHING has been checked out , then maybee it would be time to give James a call IN WORKING HOURS to have a discussion on where next to go.
We ALL have opinions and I do feel that THIS FORUM IS NOT a place where discussion like this takes place.
I deal with the majority of the customers and in my (near) year of being here this is the only major complaint that has been voiced.
So why not have the car looked at and then get back in touch with us.
The Phase 1 is advertised as being a generic remap and I do inform people of that too.
I also inform people if it is hardware or software.
I NEVER loose my rag when dealing with the public , but with the temperatures that is about now , it is loosing it a bit , as are most.
Please feel free to bring the car to us for a full diagnostics if you so require and we will check it over for you.
Also if you look at times that was done on Sunday I think you will find that nobody had a good time with the heat.
I would imagine that you probably got a faster time in than a couple of the runs in the jet engine.
Now that is my rant over with too.
But PLEASE lets get the car checked over soon!
Sarah ( I am the one that trys to do the PR)

At the end of the day i will hold my hand up and apologise on here or in public if i feel im sayin something wrong, at this present time i feel there is a problem so im posting my views!!
The car has been hooked up to vag com at the start of june when it went for service (had to have headlamp re-aligned so had it tested for all major faults) also had it checked again when i changed my leads and transformer cos of mis-fire after service!!
Its going to be checked on sat morning (third time) then run on the rollers on sunday!! Hopefully i find something wrong (thats little and not costly)and you lot can say i told you so and laugh!! But untill then...........
The Phase 1 is advertised as being a generic remap and I do inform people of that too.
Thought it was a chip????? Geting very confussed now!!!
Josh if your thinking that all i do is moan and disrupt the flow of the site then feel free to ban me or chuck me off! My views are my views!!!

I would just like to post my independent views with regards to JBS and James.
I had Revo 4bar SW on my Golf 1.8T which I was over the moon with until James convinced me there was more to be had.
He then offered me a full no quibble money back guarantee that Custom Code Phase 1 (plainly advertised as a GENERIC map) would increase my satisfaction with my car so I took him up on his offer.
The first thing I noticed was just how smooth the drive was, my engine became even more free revving, especially at higher motorway speeds where Revo had a tendency to hold back after sustained higher speed driving. This was partially down to an excellent timing map (take note Revo).
Rolling road runs showed I had increased BHP and Torque over my initial map.
Next up was Phase 2 (plainly advertised as a CUSTOM map), again the same money back full satisfaction guarantee stood.
I was extremely happy with the results showing more BHP which was held nicely towards the limiter and oodles of torque (24 lbft more than Revo).
On this basis alone I can highly recommend Custom Code software.
James spent a lot of time with my car to make sure everything was perfect and this is now what I have become to expect of every member of staff at JBS - even Lee who makes a great cup of tea!!
For these reasons I believe the OP is being very unfair, especially on a public forum.
I believe James should have had the chance to diagnose any potential problems on his RR and results pending you could have taken his offer of a full refund.
This is just not the way to do things.
