Next you'll be telling me sticking a 6 inch backbox on a normal exhaust makes the car go faster too.

Some time ago I had a K and N apollo induction kit fitted. It wouldn't fit in the same place as a BMC, so it was squeezed in along the side of the engine above the gearbox/clutch - it doesn't get hot here and the cold air feed comes from the bottom of the engine bay, a hole was cut in the sump guard or tray. Stainless steel and samco hoses were used throughout. Loads of cold air here and dust/flies I know, but it has made a noticable difference, far more free revving. It also has a stainless steel exhaust fitted by Pro - speed in Cardiff. Done a few 0-60 times - need to save gearbox - but have timed it at around 7.7 secs. It is one of the very early gti's and a few people have said that they are slightly quicker than the older ones, but I don't know why?

Fitted my (£80 new from Ebay) BMC yesterday
I've done about 200 miles with it so far, and i've gotta say the sound from it is Fantastic! The car does seem to pull better than before, Or maybe i'm just thinking it does coz of the noise? (I'll get round to timing a few 0-60 runs if the rain ever stops). Also I think it looks cool as **** in the engine bay.
Anyway I certainly haven't lost any power, and am definately using more petrol, then again I have been raggin it.
Here's my effort...
