Creaking Suspension Update.

Post by mike w »

Where are these bushes?
Are they the large bushes just behind the front wheel position, or other ones elsewhere?

My 3 month old car has it too. If your 3 day old car has this then I take it VW still don't have a fix? Any updates guys?

Is this problem on all 9ns? how about those with 'sports' suspension?

Regards.

I havn't had any problems with creaky suspension. I've got a FSI Sport.
Also added -50mm springs and still sounds ok.

Had mine done just b4 gti and it is sound as a pound, not a creak from it. (apart from the dash)

It seems to handle better as well. They replaced both wishbones on mine as I could see they were new.

Yep!

They should already know off one of there bulletins they have.

Then again if VW were anything decent they would have put them on when it had its PDI. Or at the factory if it was an order build.

went to my dealer today and "pretended" i didnt know what was wrong with the front suspension. :P

after a short drive (me driving) the VW engineer knew what it was straight away . but still took a 30min drive without me! so bushes it needed and they need around 4-5hours to fit? :(

anyway the car is booked in for next weekend , the receptionist told me that the new ones are guaranteed squeek free!!!
(why didnt they put them on in the first place?!)

hope thats the end of my problems for my 7 day old car!

Cheers

VW UK

Post by Thom »

I spoke to VW UK today and they informed me that ALL service managers have been issued with a memo regarding the new bushes.

I was fobbed off at first by the girl on reception but if you speak to the service manager you will get an answer.

This is what VW UK told me.

"They will fit modified rubber bushes to both of the front stub axles"

Hope this helps and this really needs to be made aware to ALL polo owners.

Tuesday

Post by Thom »

My girlfriends car is booked in next Tuesday to have the squeak sorted.

Apparently they may even change the wishbones aswell.

VW UK told me "They should be fitted with modified front stub axle bushes".

I'll get under the car before it goes in and mark some bits to see what gets changed
