Hey guys, final update hopefully!

Picked the car up this afternoon. The guy from VW said it was the Turbo causing the problem and they have replaced it :D

Drove the car home and it felt alot better, so fingers crossed! Got 3/4 of a tank of fuel out of them too :D

Well that was short lived! Car did exactly the same thing again this morning on my way to work.

Took it straight back to VW. Got a phone call from them about 15 mins ago and they couldn't find anything wrong

But they are going to change the EGR valve after I suggested it to them, will have it back by 12pm tomorrow apparently!

This is driving me crazy, what else could it be???? :?

EGR Valve is there to help combustion at low temperatures, basically allows a controlled air leak in the intake system. If it fails it will have the same effect as a split turbo hose - ie lack of power. I've not experienced it on my Polo but I did on the works focus TD.

you'll have a new car soon!

suggest that the seats could have caused the problem, and you need leather heated replacements.....

lol!

Another 50 mile round trip today with no problems, drove it pretty hard too, just to try and see if it would go, but all was well!

Things may be looking up! :P

It happened again

Took it to VW, they plugged their fault reader thingy into it and no faults had been logged :?

Apparently the boost pressure one went away when they changed the turbo.

They're gonna take the car for a week and see if they can make it happen. Will be getting a Golf as a courtesy car.

I'm really fed up with this now, what am I going to do if they never find what's wrong with it????

I'd contact VW customer service's directly and explain how many times this has happened how you're not happy and what they plan to do about it.

That's good in theory mate, but what more can the really do, other than what they have done already?

There's lots more they could do...ie new engine, engine rebuild...etc

I'd ask Customer Service what they plan to do and see what they say...put the ball in their court as you're obviously getting no where dealing with the dealership directly.

If it's under warranty perhaps they give you a new car if all else fails?
