here are the pics of the polo,
been arguing with the insurance all day for them not to write it off they said they will probably give me the money to fix it myself. it makes sense after the gearbox and all the usal stuff being done
i also got a copy of the estimate, below is just the prices but i have the whole list of parts etc
labour 1011.85
parts 1477.52
paint 231.91
misc 10.40
total 3209.61

If you do manage to get it back then PM me and i will give you the number for the guy that fixed mine. Hes from leven though, Im sure that if you do get it fixed yourself it wont even cost you half of what the insurance quoted.
Your just gonna have to spend a day sourcing all the parts you need for the car from scrapyards across uk.
Good luck, but if you do get it back seriously sort out a run about as sourcing all the parts and getting it fixed will take a while.

what type car are you looking for at the minute? A proper replacement or soemthing to run around for now?
Im not really sure about a replacement,i always said that if i was to get rid of the polo i would would just go the full hogg and get an r32 or a audi rs4. but i will wait and see what happens with regards to them letting me have the polo back

Good luck in getting your car back and sorted. It'd be a shame to see a car killed off because of that! It can't be anything worse than CAT D, it's not seriously mangled, so I'm surprised why they're trying to justify not letting you have it back. Especially since it won't be crushed, etc if it got passed onto a Scrapyard, which means somebody could buy it.

Well thats the gti gone, gave up in the end its just been causing to much stress over the last few weeks,
the insurance tell me its going to go to philips in galasheilds in the borders.
so if anyone wants any mint bits off a gti get in touch with them in over a week.
They have agreed to pay off the outstanding hp . so gonna give it a few months and treat myself to a new car , shortlist being . r32 , the new polo or golf gti, or somthing along the seat lines so will just have to shop around abit
I will still be on and around the forum as its one of the best forums around with lots of helpfull people
