I think he just put that up jokingly, i met him a day after he got the car and he said he was well pleased with it and had plenty of plans for it to tidy it up and said it was much faster than his old one, also demonstrated this by taking me for a spin

The lad who bought yours was after mine for ages but kept offering less than i was willing to go!!!
Does seem really stupid that he's selling up already, if you was in the process of fighting for your no claims surely you'd check insurance just in case you didn't win!
Oh well, fingers crossed it will go to a good owner, which i think it will as he's really into his Dubs as i've learnt from speaking to him!!

he says he's not too sure at the moment, might keep it. But i was just completely surprised he is selling it already bit of a stupid thing to do, may be other reasons why he's getting rid which he may not want to tell us

Dan here on Kims username...
Im selling the car because it is a complete and utter shed...
Pictures make this car look like something it isnt...
- Cracked rear bumpers where the strips were welded out.
- Crack front bumper where strips were welded out
- Stress cracks in front bumper
- Chipped and totally wrong colour handles and petrol cap
- Totally different colour boot lit
- The car is about 7 shades of silver
- Coilovers are f****d
- Runs like s**t, because the clever kid who put a 'cold' air intake on put it out of the BMC and it ends bang next to the manifold, sucking in nothing but hot air!
- Only got service history up to 50k
- Chavved up interior handles which are also chipping
- Huge dent in the roof
- Needed 2 new rear hubs where theyd be cross threaded
The list goes on...
This is why FastCar featured it and not a good magazine like PVW.
The insurance reason is just an excuse, I cant put ''Im selling this due to it being a shed''
I wouldnt beef this car up to VW enthusiasts like you, I wouldnt sell it you lot, id feel guilty. I just want to sell it to some thick chav.
Hope that clears things up abit people...

Out of interest, were you not aware of the above list of 'issues' before you handed over money for the car?
Just I would have thought you would have viewed it before doing any deal, and things like dents/stress cracks, lack of service history, different paint colours would have been noticeable.
Oh well.

ok well I know tom & i know the car, its not a shed, it is an 8 year old car that has been tastefully modded....its not new out of the factory, when you buy a used car hidden problems come with it, thats why they are so cheap...i'd expect you to know this as you have changed your cars weekly by the looks of things
I bought myself an ibiza cupra with chipped paintwork and a shot turbo amoungst other things but you dont see me spitting my dummy over it, i accept the faults it has and i plan on fixing them....you certainly havent been as hard done by as you make out, most of the problems are aesthetic, the car itself is mechanically sound...tom certainly wasnt trying to dupe anyone..
all the problems you mentioned were on show when you viewed it, you should just have bothered to look..stuff like service history, paintwork shades, door handles you would have known about, or you are plain stupid for not finding out etc...so u can hardly justify making a fuss over them
clearly if the car is such a shed you are complete plonker for viewing and buying such a piece of s**t?

Not trying to take a dig here mate, but if you feel so strongly about these flaws what made you buy it in the first place?
Most of the points in that list are all visual things which you could tell straight away, without having to even drive it?

Yeah, at no point have I blaimed him for trying to hide them.
It was my decision to buy the car, I havn't tried to deny that.
Im just sick of people saying how 'amazing' this car his and how's he's modded it so well, the state of the car is DISGUSTING. I bought the car knowing most of the problems, yes, I was going to spend the next year getting it to what it should be, but change of heart after I keep discovering more problems.
I aint had a dig at him here, just wanted you all to know why im selling and to tell you all that the car isn't what people made out...
