Heres the chop

Was so much easier to chop my car and recolour it, at least you can see what yours will look like with fogs too :)

EDIT:

I redone the colour, looks alot better now, last edit was a bit too dark!

BTW: This is your birthday present dude :P

Wouldn't be lowered then :( plus for the cost of fuel etc.. will just have to see lol that also means lugging back my old set in my boot..

Ok I went and had a look at these mud flaps this morning as I didn't get round to it yesterday..

The front ones are held on by three screws which I should be able to get off if I put the wheel on full lock (hopefully) but the rear three screws are less accessible... I manage to get the top one out, but I don't want to start removing the wheels unless its really the only option.. any ideas?

This is the rear mud flap (Offside).. As you can see I tried spraying WD-40 all over the screws to help loosen then, but I only succeeded in getting the top one out and making quite a messy part mud, part WD-40 gunk..

In your spare wheel well you should have a black tool box with a scissor jack and the tool to get your wheel bolts off. Id just jack your car up and take your wheel off.

Will take your about 15 mins to take the off the flaps i would off thought

Yea I thought it would be the only option :( The screws that hold them on have been coated with water and mud for 7 years.. so just a little tough to unscrew haha..

Will do that tomorrow...

Right, I got them all off this morning.. I had to take the rear wheels off but the front ones have been designed so that you can take them off without removing the wheels..

I'm gonna post a bunch of pictures with the progress just in case anyone else was curious or wanted to have a go :)

So first of all the front mud flaps..

This is how they looked before I started.

You will have to look quite close, but there are three torx screws to undo and two clips, two of the screws below the clips and the final screw it further into the arch, placed at an angle as that it is accessible while the wheel is set to full lock.

Once you have undone the screws, its just a case of gently pulling the flap towards the wheel then pushing it into the wheel arch to unclip it.

As you can see here, it was quite a mess underneath the mud flap, so while the trim was loose I decided to have a clean up.. and discovered 7 years worth of built up dirt and mud stuffed in behind the trim.. You can see how much was in there in one of the next pictures.. I basically just scraped as much of it as I could out with a screwdriver before cleaning off the bodywork and refixing the trim back into place with the three torx screws.

Next up was the rear wheels, I just jacked the car up one side at a time and took the wheel off. Sprayed plenty of WD-40 onto the screws as the rear ones on my car were just phillips screws which had become clogged with dirt and rust.

You can see the three phillips screws here and there is also a small 10mm plastic nut that you have to undo which is behind the wheel on the back wall of the wheel arch. this must be put back afterwards though as it is holding some of the other trim in place.

Once the three screws and the nut are off the mud flap just pops right off. I only put the 10mm nut back when doing the rear mud flaps as there are torx screws already holding the trim in place so the three screws seemed unnecessary.

Looks better mate. although I've considered geting fronts for mine, the amount of dirt that gets kicked up onto the doors is ridiculous

Don't really have much mud round here, just puddles I guess. will have to wait and see when it rains how bad it gets.. I have kept them in my garage just in case. Could always spray the front ones black and refit them if it does get bad I guess
