Project euro polo
Its your car mate, who cares what anyone else thinks and if they bother you then sod them. Who are they to tell you what you can and can't do? I really wouldn't let it get to you what people say and I still reckon you should keep it that colour! (although i'd love the see a surf green coloured polo).6n_polo wrote:rite then. firstly i have not got this car on the road yet so it wont be the first one on the road in this colour. Secondly i have had my internet for 2 weeks and have never seen the other baby blue polo before. Thirdly it may be a £200 paint job but some of us have kids to pay for and houses to pay for and only get paid a £1000 a month!! I mean fair enough on your own views and all but living in york (where there are few polos) i rarely see any polos modded at all so obviously im going to fink about taking mine what i fought was 1 step further than the other polos around this area so mine was different! Im definatley changing the colour - possibly now at the end of this month because i dont want to be branded as copying other people. I didnt aim to copy anybody with this car but to be honest its slightly disapointing being branded a COPY!!
I can see where Mike and others are coming from, but at the end of the day its your car to do what you like with
Understand both sides, Mike has worked on his for the best part of this year & has documented the progress thru' the forum. (link) So he has seen your 'baby blue' posted up with the idea's he documented & built in.Polo96CL wrote:Its your car mate, who cares what anyone else thinks and if they bother you then sod them. At the end of the day, fair play to you both, if what you are putting together is what you like/want then hey, the world can handle it!
And yes, juggling modding a vehicle, paying a mortgage & bills is difficult, I'm having to do the same. Keep your idea's for the car, most are on other motors already. There will be always differences in every build & the fact you are doing it, makes it personal to you.
Comments & Opinions on the Forum are just that, & no offence is either meant or implied, please don't feel that you have to change for anyone.
The world would be boring if we didn't stand out occasionally!
i understand what your saying. I spent the last 8 months trying to build my car and was just disaponted tht so many people said i copied the other polo. if i had seen the other polo i would of gone down a complete diffrent route but hey its too late now. will have to go back to the drawing board i fink
