A few little changes over the last few weeks;
Wheels on
Stubby
Stubby
Headlight protectors
Nothing new or original, but I did by GTi because I liked the standard looks and subtle changes that can be made. I think aero wipers are next on the list as mine look crap and are worn anyway. Just need to find out exactly what I need to do this. Would also like a set of legal pressed plates, but im a bit nervous about sending my original documents in the post

Also need to sort out my air con, which I hope wont cost a fortune.

Looking good dude.
You can get retro fit aero blades? They just use the existing arms. Or two passenger side Lupo arms to fit proper aero blades.
You don't need to send off your documents, you probably live quite close to Dubmeister headquarters (noticed your from Bristol area), you can drive down there and get them sorted it person!

Few small changes to report! After changing my mind about 300 hundred times I have finally ended up buying another BMC CDA and fitted it this week.
Seemed to go in ok, but the engine cover seems to catch on the the filter a bit. Nothing major, but has anyone else found this? I also need to replace the crappy feed pipe with the wider stuff, but thought id leave it as it is for now, see if I like it first. Need to give the engine bay a bit of a clean now, try and get it looking new again.
Also fitted some retro fit aero blades, I think they look awesome! I dont know why I waited nearly a year to change them lol. And also some bad news, I took my car to have a air con re-gas as I thouhgt it may be empty, but made no difference

So it looks like thats going to be an expensive fix. Any ideas what it could be if its not the gas or a leak?

When you put the aircon on, do you hear a click in the engine and the revs change? If not, the aircon clutch isnt engaging therefore the aircon, as such, wont work.

Thanks for the quick reply! I just went to check then and I dont hear a click, but it sounds like the engine works a little harder, hardly anything at all though - could just be my imagination lol. If it is the clutch is that difficult to change/replace. Sorry for the stupid questions, but I know nothing about air con.

There is a plug on the left of the oil filter. It has a metal spring clip on it (quite obvious)
Have a quick check to make sure it is there, and plugged in. Alot of mechanics disconnect it on service, and never reconnect it!

Where does your BMC catch mate?

I had my BMC running off the OEM Feed like yourself mate but bought myself some proper air ducting after a month or too and the difference in noise is very significant. The OEM Feed looks a bit like an Octopus, to get the full potential of the BMC you need to remove the original air feed and buy yourself some 70mm Diameter Air Ducting, 1 Metre length will do fine.
It makes the BMC much louder, especially when your climbing through the Revs.
When you say your BMC is Catching, do you mean the feed or the actuall Air Unit?
Did you fit the bracket?

Will do

I'm kind of new to the whole forum thing and only on this one so far. As for the bolts I got mine from Justmatz, but to be honest I wouldnt get them again. They do fit etc, but are no where near the quality of the original ones. So I would try finding some on here, or I found lots on ebay if you need quite a few.

Well the whole cover seems to be a tad higher, think its to do the air feed on the left. But the main issue is the thinnest part right at the back, just behind where the original air box was. Dont really want to go chopping bits off, as I want it to look original as possible.

You can fix the catching by simply adjusting the bracket.
Cut the bracket down a tad so the BMC sits froward more. No more catching then!

Yea, think ill have to have a little play and adjust everything and also get hold of some of that 70mm stuff. Do all of these changes effect the emissions for an mot if you are changing the air fuel mixture slightly?
Anyways gave the car a quick clean today and then the sun came out so I took a few pics;
Still got loads of small bits and pieces id like to do, but starting to be quite happy with the way it looks now. Ive picked up a few scuffs from carparks and other peoples awesome driving skills this year so I would like to get to a paint shop if its not too expensive this summer.
Let me know what you guys think!
