I've just been using my iPhone with the HDR setting but I can't expect anything special from that I suppose. Any tips?
Tips on taking photo's or detailing? :?

Alright... here's some pics in the daylight. Excuse the fact that the wipers are still up  I wasn't completely finished at this stage.

Reflection in the bonnet.

Some of these are HDR... I couldn't really work out which pictures highlighted the shine best so if you want here's the link to the set on flickr and you can see both the original and HDR shot.

Let me know what you think :)

Very nice dude! Yeah 56mm ones. I went for BBS ones instead although they do cost a bit more on ebay. :(

Have you polished or sprayed the outer rims?

Cheers for the comments guys :)

Yep had a look at the BBS centre caps... a bit too expensive, although, they are nice.

I've had the outer lip sprayed silver... I was assured the corrosion wouldn't be as big a deal with a painted lip rather than a polished one if it DOES happen again. I know the wheels originally have the polished lip but I actually like it painted now that I've seen it. :)

@Ben - PM coming your way soon buddy :)

Cool, I think I'm going to go for the sprayed lip option so that I can keep the wheels on over winter without much trouble.

Did you still split the wheels?

Cheers,

Just left the car in to get a new clutch & clutch cable fitted and the gearbox oil changed. :)

The GTI is back :) What a difference that has made... the clutch is so much lighter and the gearbox oil has made gear changes so much smoother. I also got the coolant temperature sensor changed while It was in just to get rid of that annoying fault. The car is running well....

...HOWEVER, i STILL have a weird grinding noise coming from the gearbox area. It can only be heard from inside the car. I thought the change of oil would fix that but the noise still remains. It's not really affecting anything at the minute, it's just a noise and it can be heard most under acceleration and deceleration. Goes away whenever I dip the clutch. Any ideas?
