Shame about the gearbox but dont let it get you down, it always sounds serious but everything on a car is replaceable and can be fixed :)

You will soon be back on the road

Your probably best going to a gearbox specialist and have them rebuild your box rather than source a second hand recon box.
If you buy a gearbox it’s impossible to tell what condition it’s in and how good the rebuild was (a lot of dodgy companies out there)

1st Gear Transmission do a good exchange service and the boxes they supply have uprated bearings too so are stronger than the OEM units.
I used them on my Car and the box they eventually supplied was very good.
If I was having problems again though I would definitely go direct to a gearbox specialists and have them fix my own gearbox rather than a replacement, it’s not the sort of thing you want going wrong again.

Still havent had any luck with getting the car in the garage :( hoping to have it in there soon though!

have been browsing ebay for some new bits for her got a few things in mind
Hoping to swap the seatbelts for red ones,
got some genuine GTI mats
Going to do conversion of the main beam soon to the HIDS
Tinting the windows
Carbon fibring the back badge
Now i will have more time & (money) to spend on the car as moved back in with the rents.

Liking the list.

Where did you manage to get the genuine mats from? Looked a few times for mine but never managed to hunt a decent set down.
