I'm really suprised about the differences in spec of the GTi's we have on here (just read the other thread too...)
I was under the impression that the only real differences were:
Optional Leather
Traction Control (Option on earlier models, standard on laters)
Electronic Diff Lock - EDL (as above)
Black, Black with Red Stitching or Totally Red Seatbelts
Black, Red with Black Endcaps or Totally Red HT Leads
3 or 5 Door lol
But it seems that there are differences with Aircon/Climate/None, Interior Spec, Sideskirts, Sunroof....
It's madness!

Five door 2001 red gti mo fo's
RED is the colour people none of this black and silver rubbish! hey has anybody got all red gti badges? theres two gti mo fos in colchester one black (boo) one Silver (boo) both wit red badges?????????????
some t**t told me that my red gti was worth 6000 (2001 18000 mls not one sratch) grand but if it was black it would be 7000! what a fcuking prick!

i have a
GTI badge on the front but had a
GTI badge on the back...
have no idea wot the point in that was but i removed the rear badges anyway....
oh, and i have a silver 3 dr

black 3dr polo gti all the way1plus all the non colour coded parts blend in!included my tinted windows,grill,mirror holders arial, etcetcetc, anyway looks the dogs....

Red 3 Door for me.
I've also got some weird spec going on.........
No Aircon
Electric Sunroof
Side Airbags
Grey door cards
Grey seatbelts (no red stitching)
6 disc in dash changer
No traction control
Found out it was an official vw import after I bought it (not happy) but then again didn't pay too much (40K miles, 2000 X, £5,400 18 months ago). Got the pedal box done through VW Glasgow no problem, as well so happy none the less.
