+1 plastidip is good stuff, done a grill on a BMW and that looked good.

The badge has grown on me to be honest, a mate said it didn't look right in the picture but when he saw it in real life he liked it.

How did you do on the links to change the daytime running lights of the average for new lamps in the fog lights? You called what to where?
He liked to make this change also ehehe

I didn't change the foglights in the end, looked like a job that would take up too much time, not really worth the effort for a small change. I did however turn off the low beam in the drl by insulating a pin in the light switch, can't remember which one off the top of my head

I wanted to put the DRL to side the fog lights, with new cables, wanted to know where I connect them, in the Pin TFL will?

I think I used your diy actually, thanks :P
Just a thought but could you replace the pin you insulated with the new drl one to get it working?

That is my doubt, I think so, but wanted to see if anyone confirmed this to me

Let me know how u get on!

So my GTI grill arrived today, came with a black badge but I've swapped it for my chrome one.

The red stripes would have looked out of place on the car so I've plastidipped them black.

Got dark by the time I fitted, I'll upload pics of it on the car tomorrow

Good call, the red stripes can easily look tacky. I think VW have overstepped the mark with the red stripe continuing into the headlights on the 6C GTI. Looks terrible.

I think the server update deleted my last post

Here's pics of the grill fitted.
I know some of you won't be a fan of the r badge but I had to cover the uneven honeycomb that would have been behind the gti badge. GTD badge was a no costing 30 quid, more than the grill!

The black colour looks great with the chrome strip on the grill, and is probably the best colour to show it off! The space left by the GTI badge is annoying, so I understand why you did what you did.

Still. Pretty!

I hope I don't have this problem when I remove the GT badge from the front grill of my Blue GT. Has anyone done this?

I doubt you will, it looks like the bgt uses the normal grill. You can see the uneven pattern in my post which shows the grill with the red lines.

I'm fine with the Blue GT grill as it comes, black gloss painted and the blue logo. My concern is about ading something to the bumper, It looks too plain to me.

Question: When xenon are mounted, I see that the splitted outer part of the fog light is useless, only the center part works. I'd like to make a plastic cover/grill/''intake'' for this.

I agree it looks nice, but I want to be ultra discreet and remove any sign that my car might be worth stealing or keying. That's also the main reason I chose white, so that it looks like a sales rep's 1.2 TDI
