Yes, I also modified Offset 2E7 (bit 6 from 0 to 1): this enables the activation via VCDS.
When I switch on the cluster on the bench, the staging doesn't work.
But I still didn't tried the cluster on the car.
What is wrong? :/
In my experience powering on terminal 15 and 31 both at the same time produces this, but if you first power is on permanent 12v terminal and then ignition one, it will work

In the 6R - try: 17, Instrument > Adaption > Indicator Celebration (near the end of the adaption Menu)

Might seem a daft question but how do access the VCDS? and what actually does the needle sweep do and why do people activate it?

Thank you! It worked!
I powered first the pin 15 and then pin 30 and the cluster did the staging on the bench. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tw4PvCu ... e=youtu.be
Then I modified the eeprom also on the MFA+ cluster and it worked as well.

It does as it says, it prompts a full scale squeep of some of the instrument pointers/needles - just maybe looks good that is all.
Some of the higher powered cars have this as standard, for instance my 2011 Audi S4 does it if I want to be silly enough to wait for it to complete that before starting the engine, but I don't, I just press the key and let it get on with starting up the engine.
So, on other cars it is just an option that can be enabled - and why not if that is what you want.
Edit:- sorry, I missed the bit about VCDS - search online and find a UK based reseller.

Ok, I fixed my problem on my GTI MFA+ cluster.
I had to modify Offset 2E6 (Bit 4 from "0" to "1").
Now the needles are illuminated while they do the staging.
I've been also able to make the "Staging" channel available via VCDS, by modifing Offset CD (Bit 6 from "0" to "1") and also Offset 2E7 (Bit 6 from "0" to "1").
Hi folks
I have a VW Vento (polo sedan) 2010, I have attached the image of the cluster and wanted to know if it is possible to activate the needle sweep on that cluster? also does the BCM has to do anything with the activation of needle sweep feature? My BCM part number is 6RU937086B.
Please throw some light on this
Thanks in advance

If you have VCDS, have a look at the adaptation channels of your instrument cluster. Look for 'staging' or 'indicator celebration'

I have a clone VCDS cable (17.8 but that does not work, is there any way to repair the cable? I have posted the details of the error I get with the VCDS cable
