Hello all, potential new polo owner here
Re: Hello all, potential new polo owner here
I think you've now answered your question. Like others say theres plenty out there, the right one will come along. im hopefully selling my bluegt, as soon as i find the right replacement
Re: Hello all, potential new polo owner here
Last year I part exchanged an 03 Civic 1.4 hatchback for a 1.4 twin charged MK6 Golf, it was quite a buzz getting that car, I was excited and loved it..
Just drove the BlueGT, although I do like it (Dont exactly love it), there is no way near as much of a buzz as there was last year. Not 100% sure on what that means exactly.
On another note, anyone know any good places to buy Polo badges? Such as the words "POLO" on the rear and the blue "GT" badge on the front grill. I have found the GT badge on ebay for £16.99 but struggling to find the POLO for the rear

Probably a touch unrealistic to a expect a "buzz" when essentially downgrading...
Re: Hello all, potential new polo owner here
Certainly is downgrading in ways, definitely isnt as fast.
But it is a 5 year newer car, so also upgrading in other ways imo

Re: Hello all, potential new polo owner here
Not to mention the fact I am part exchanging the golf as well as handing over an additional £5.5k for it
Re: Hello all, potential new polo owner here
End of the day though you're switching to a smaller, slower car. For context, I switched from a 15-year-old BMW 3 series to the SEL, so a much newer car but I certainly wasn't in any way excited by it. It was simply a practical choice as the BMW had reached end of life & I had no need for anything bigger. If you want a buzz from a Polo then it probably needs to be the GTi if you can stretch to it. Otherwise you may need to look elsewhere.

Maybe one place to check out for VW Polo parts is your local VW dealer, I've found in the past that most places that sell genuine VW stuff charge a bit more that the official dealers do - unless they are a VW Group dealership part's department trading on line, in which case they can be slightly cheaper.

The front BlueGT badge just pushes on, mine had a blob of black silicon looking stuff on it too. Wasn’t difficult to get off. Rear badges were a little more awkward...
