Last year I had the following MOT advisory for both NSF and OSF-Suspension arm pin or bush worn but not resulting in excessive movement Lower(rear bush) on my 2011 Polo 1.2 TSI 105HP. I was advised last year to change them this year, so have stumbled upon this thread. I am considering the non-voided version with part number 8N0407181B, so wanted to know people's experiences on whether this part would definitely fit my car. Comparing at the external diameters of the OEM part number - 1J0407181, they seemed to be listed between 60-60.2mm. The one I'm looking at are these https://justgermanparts.co.uk/product/a ... n0407181b/ and a phone call with them confirmed they should be straight swap, any thoughts?

Cheers,
Bal
OK, so I've had the front LCA rear bushes replaced now together with laser alignment. I went with the non-voided Meyle HD ones and first impressions are the steering has sharpened quite considerably, but, there's always a but, the noise/vibration/harshness is now amplified twice-fold, especially when trying to cruise at 40mph in 6th gear, which wasn't present on the old/original bushes. This is most likely due to the fact the original worn bushes were masking this vibration and the fact the new ones are non-voided. Lesson learned, I think for anyone else requiring LCA rear bushes replacing, I would advise to go with the OEM/original part to keep the car conformant. Thankfully, this car is only used on short journeys on A/B UK roads. Once my son has passed his test and gets his own car, I'll be upgrading to a newer car funds permitting.

Your not the first person to discover this issue with solid bushes and TSI engines, I guessed that this might be the case so stuck with the slightly voided version, I found the "turn in" amazing with this car from the moment I first drove it brand new.

My wife's previous car was 2002 Polo 1.4 16V 75PS BBY engined thing, replacing torn console bushes for solid Cupra versions really really did improve the "turn in" without causing any detectable noise/roughness at any revs - it did cause issues with maybe the TDI versions though, which is probably why the Fabia VRS did not use solid console bushes - only the Ibiza Cupra did.
