Thanks for the replies.

The peddle feel the same (not soft) I will check with the car On.

The sad thing is here I am having extreme difficulty in finding a reliable garage. Even the dealer mess up my car and almost bought on fire. So I have been learning and working on it by myself.

Sorry to revive a thread, but I have questions on determining the master cylinder bore size on my 6C.

It's a 2017 Cross Polo CJZD fitted with 288mm discs as standard. I hate the feel of the brakes on this thing. At times it feels absolutely unsafe.

Looking at the master cylinder reveals no visible part numbers.
Does this have the 22.2mm or the 23.81mm?
Will it definitely be 22.2mm because of the ABS in the 6C?

I have been toying with doing a brake upgrade for a while.
Have looked at the dual-piston setup from the Audi TT 8N 3.2 V6 which has ridiculous 340-345mm discs. Also have option on a set of S3 8P single-piston 345mm, but these are not bolt on like the TT. Let alone those discs are way too big for the car anyway. The TT 3.2 is pretty much unobtainium.

However, in my garage sits a pair of Porsche 993 black Brembos (4-piston 36mm and 44mm).
Now the 993 has a 23.82mm master cylinder. Surely the best thing here is to fit a 23.81mm to get the correct amount of fluid displacement for the increased piston volume.

But I would love to know how to confirm this thing has 22.2mm or 23.81mm in the first place. I can't spot any part numbers on the master cylinder. Visually I'd say it looks skinny enough to be a 22.2.

I even resorted to getting AI to do some research and it went horribly wonky. At one point it was recommending a 36mm bore.
And it finds information stating the 6C GTI is 22.2mm but with a larger booster. While it finds the stock item as being 23.81mm.

According to its "reasoning" a 23.81mm with the smaller booster will be ideal, while the 22.2mm (which it says is on the GTI) would run the larger booster to offset it and provide must better brake feel. I find any search I do with AI winds up in a shouting (or loud typing) match.
