If you do sand the pads down keep them as flat as possible and don’t create low spots at the edges like I did

Also be prepared to make a mess of everything in the surrounding area.

I want to wish wish happy new year to everyone!
Did you check if the pads move left to right freely in the pad carrier?

Happy new year to you and all.
Yes I filled the pad down a bit, was the inner lips top an bottom, I did try to show in the pictures. So the pads now have wiggle room. And nice slide movement.
I Will test later today, else could be the back breaks, im sure I feel it on the steering wheel too, yet the cars so stiff, you feel every little bump.
I dont get to use the car as much now, its more my partners car.
Noticed, by this topic, I did the breaks at the end of may so more like 6-7000 miles on the breaks.
Also I checked the handbrake and it was quite high, so went to adjust alittle, in the car out the rain and noticed the cable is not even.

Still haveing the problem, it not as bad but there, more notisable slowing down from high speeds.
I will get my dads dti gague and see what I get.
I am thinking it's the rear, as drivers rear is making a noise on rotation yet not had time to remove the wheel. When I did the rears thinking back 1 of the calipers was hard to screw in, not sure what side that was, will get 4 new bolts from VW.
Was thinking I could break clamp the drivers rear pipe, that should tell me on a road test?
Been years since I've had to lots of testing. Ofc it had to be my other half car.

So the shaking is still there, I blanked off the rear breaks with a pipe clamp, still there, so I've taken the discs off and checked the hub to make sure it was clean, and flush, which it did look, also wire brushed etc, put back and hope it fixed, else will go tps get new front discs. The pads look like new still, so hoping there be ok to use on the new oem discs or should I replace the pads?

What happens whend you place left side pads on right side vice versa?
Can you check your ball joints also for play?

Not tried putting left wheel pads on right. I will check if I still get a vibration the joints when I get new discs, if I still get a issue will main dealer it, it's as soon as I touch the breaks the car, peddle and steering wheel vibrates. Worse breaking from high speeds, and I had break kind of fail, breaking hard peddle was fine but the car was not slowing down how it should, over tock a car acc to about 100, hit roundabout slowed more by engine to 30 was hard on peddle. Why I had it all off today.

Also from tyre wear, the tyres looked like they have been over inflated, yet I've always put what it says in the front, from when I got the car and new tyres. Edges of tyres look fine. Thought I say as ball joint would show funny wear.

Will I be ok using the pads I have, was vw oem pads, not eco. with new discs, or should I replace? As may of over heated with the disc and pads sticking.
P.s
Were I moved so far, I now lack my pals that use to assist, use to have access to a ramp, air tools, now it out on the side of the road, dont help.
Its my partners car, and she drives it soft, never hard breaks unless she has to. I only use the car here and there, last 2-3 month, I drove it once, the other day, Just cant see why the discs went so bad from sticking over sized pads in the caliper.
Maybe the vw oem pad compound was a bad mix, with the brembo sport disc.

Are those brake discs directional?
I doubt the brake pads would cause a vibration, you would head some noise for sure - meaning the pads dont sit flat against the rotor. But your wear on dics looks completely normal

So just get oem discs use same pads, just file down the edges a bit. If the judder is still there after that, I will take it to VW, as its still under extended warranty. Guessing will be the hub.
Also read that maybe the drive assistant, may cause it, will try turning off in the cars ui, see if it makes any difference.
Also is there a ECU ABS update?
P.s no the discs are universal.
Also thank Amer6R

After taking the discs off cleaning the hub and disc hub back, it seems to of stoped the judder, so she has said, still early to tell. surprising tho as the hub etc looked clean, yet only takes a small bit of rust or grit, could of fallen as I tock apart. Fingers crossed, will know Sunday for sure, I will be doing 100-150 miles in her, and the car. Lol

So the judder is still there, I can let go of the steering wheel as I break, car stops straight yet I see the steering wheel wobble as I touch the breaks. It can be felt in the car too. Worse on soft breaking, hard breaking its there just not as noticable.
Getting new oem discs today. Will update.
