My friend, as expected no text, however the dealer confirmed the car is indeed in the UK and will be arriving at the dealership TOMORROW!!!

So I should be collecting it at some point this week

Did you come into Sheerness? I've got Inchcape Swindon dealership but heard nothing. Time to break out the telephone charm! Very jealous! [emoji847] are you going to wait for a 16 plate?

Agree stereo is poor, no oil usage ,think that was the 1.4 GTi which had that prob. Seat belt height adjuster's do vibrate. Hated em for that reason on other cars I've had em on. Other than that squeaky brakes are common but getting better with time

Yep, came into Sheerness. I'm on the Isle of Wight, and I know the car transporters only come over on a Tuesday, so I told myself if it's this Tuesday I'll get the car straight away and if it was going to be next Tuesday I'd wait for the 1st March.

Aesthetically speaking it makes little difference as I'll have a private plate on mine anyway, but if it had been any later than this week I'd probably have struggled to justify not waiting, if that makes sense...

Well I've been told that my car is assigned to CITY OF ROME but they're still adamant it's in EMDEN port. The destination status for that boat is still set to TYNE. So either my car is in SHEERNESS port or CITY OF ROME is heading to EMDEN port next. I've a feeling they're possibly holding me back for a 16 plate to make up their numbers. Perhaps I'm being too sceptical...

So regarding the stereo. I did ask this into the ICE forum but no response. Does anyone have a guide or link to how best to run a feed off of the stereo to the boot, are there adaptors needed, do I need to crimp onto existing wires, best cable route etc. As the GTis have their battery in the boot I think the Axton spare wheel subwoofer would resolve the poor sound to a good degree and be reasonably easy to wire up from that perspective.

What spec you gone for?
Base White
Manual
5 door
Winter Pack
Light and Sight
Cruise and Park
Smoking Pack
Front centre arm rest
Car-Net App-Connect
Front Passenger airbag deactivation.

Also have DTUK Tuning box as well so I should have around 235ps on a sensible setting with 95 Ron judging from the rolling road graphs from independents. The 245ps they quoted is a bit undrivable without a proper mechanical LSD.

Sounds good.

Mine is:

5 door
DSG
Oryx White
And pretty much everything except:
Panoramic roof
Alcatraz seats
Nav

Will probably get the APR map soon enough

Very nice. If I was keeping the car I would definitely go for an APR Map. Very smooth remap. The DTUK ones aren't terrible but there is only so much they can when they're inline as opposed to the ECU being directly modified. That said I've had DTUK for nearly 10yrs on all my cars and aside from a 2.0 diesel PSA engine I've never had an issue.

Yeah mate, link to the bulbs...
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00K ... ge_o00_s00

Have to purchase two, i ordered one thinking they came as a set but you only get the one.
Took about 10 mins to fit both! You'll need a torx screwdriver set with the 'star' shaped bits... then to take the face off, theres a metal hook that comes with the spare wheel kit, hook it in the insert on the panel then a bit of force it comes off!
did these throw any bulb warnings mate?
