@ eddie-nl: Polo Club Holland goes international baby!
@LeMeph: of course I'll be gettin it rolled
dunno want it'll be pushing, but don't expect it to be spectaculair, since it's still running on it's single point Bosch mono-motronic injection system. In time I'm thinking of replacing the single throttle with 4 multi-throttles, but that's long term planning since it aint cheap
And to answer your question, yes the exhaustmanifold/header from a 1.4 fits a 1.6 head, all polo 8v engine's match, you can even fit a G40 header on your 6N
(with some minor adjustments)

oooooo nice sir. a G40 you say... now my mind is wandering lol...
ah ok i wasnt sure as obviously the 1. is a bigger bore.
I was also told that the inlet manifold for the 1.6 is bigger then the 1.4 so you have to buy a new one if you want to change the head.
Was i lied to? lol.
When you get that multi throttle system on its gonna be seriously fooking sweet

The bore of the 1.6inletmanifold is indeed bigger then the one from a 1.4 engine, but by swapping head (1.6 on a 1.4 engine) you don't necisarely have to swap inletmanifolds to, 1.4 inlet will fit 1.6 head. But by swapping heads AND inletmanifold, you total "system" will get a bigger bore, and that is of course better for performance/torqueLeMeph wrote:oooooo nice sir. a G40 you say... now my mind is wandering lol...

And puting on a G40 exhaustmanifold will only gain if is has a bigger bore then the manifold you're running now, so don't get your hopes up already before you've checked that out

Finally got back from my holidaytrip, so strated working on the mk4 right away
Got around to finally begin on the cables for the audio-install, which will be laid under the carpet, will continue this today. And last night visited JL Tuning again, got around to work on the "looks" of the engine
Before:

And after:

And while I was at it, why not do the gearbox too ai?

Long life the heat-resistant paint! When the new head has been refurbed, this will be painted mattblack too, to complete the picture with the block, head, gearbox and alternator

Finally the project is getting some speed in it! Did a lot of work last week, unfortunetaly most of it (90%) isn't visible, but damn necessary!
Here some pics of the car outside the garage in daylight:

Carpet is in, all the audio wiring is underneath it and almost all is ready, just need to do the boot-install and still waiting for my doorboards, rang the shop today, will be in in about 2 or 3 weeks, finally!

Also the mid-console is back in, as is the rearseat, almost forgot how sweet leather feels when you sit on it, can't wait for the front seats to go in!

And my pride, hip-seatbelts in the back, with clean C-pillars. For as far I know I'm the second in Holland with this!

And my biggest pride, the balck sky, B-pillar, mattblack handlebars and doorrubber, all made with my very own hands

Thanx again for the positive remarks, really makes me more enthousiastic to continue the project
But to the point, it's a saturday morning, weatherforcast is very good, sun will be up and hot, so what do you decide? YES! You decide to feed your Polo-addiction
Started on my performance meters, didn't feel like it, since it requires a sh*tload of wiring
But started anyhow, since it had to be done
And there in!

Personnaly I really fancy the look with the smoothed underside of the centreconsole

Also mounted the adjusted Golf mk4 convertible speedometer, turned out that it aint that of a straight swap, had to adjust some more in the dash, but fits (don't ask me how it got it, I really had to squees it in so limited and tight is the space in the dash)

And tried to "close" most of the dashboard while I was at it, so went on with the audio, and mounted the filters of the JBL compo under the dash-closet, the filters for the second JBL componentset are in the doors themself.

And mounted the closet back in (is closet the right english word for this?
)

Gotta get me some white dials for the mk4 speedometer some day, but that aint the major focus now, more feeling like getting the engine running and back in the car
