Well, bringing an old thread back to life.

The Polo is still here and still running like a dream.

Had it's MOT this morning and passed with no advisories. The tester also commented to the mechanic about how clean a car it was and how nice it was to see one in such condition. This meant a lot to me that after all these years people still notice and appreciate them.

Will be hoping to do a mini shoot somewhere on it soon and give it a birthday.

Service all booked in for friday too.

Hope everyones keeping well.

It is nice, they are still a nice clean looking little car.Nice in some ways not to see so many of them i find people sort of do a double take when they realize they are definitely not a golf haha.

Well car had it's annual service and I also had the front discs and pads changed.I was quite lucky and managed to pick up a pair of G60 carriers quite a while ago for £20.I painted them up and left them ready for the brake change,so upgraded to G60 280mm discs. They fill the 15" RXII's pretty nicely i think.

Sun down.

Does anybody know the easiest way to remove the spoiler brake light on the Polo?

Think i may need to get a flexy driver and put my torx driver in that to remove it without removing the spoiler.I have an LED out i think so may have to solder another on but will look at the board when it's out.

There's no real way to get it off as the wiring runs through a guide you can only access with the spoiler fully removed - you may need to take the whole thing off.

So turns out the spoiler brake light is a sealed unit and I couldn't gain access to the PCB to solder some new LEDs on to it.

The old spoiler brake light upon closer inspection had some water damage and a little corrosion had started on the circuit board so I decided to replace it with a brand new unit.
All fitted and working sweet which is nice,I also sealed the huge cable entry hole with some clear silicon to help prevent water getting in,hopefully this one lasts another 13 years.

On a down note, some bastard has put a tiny dent in my drivers door from opening their door onto it.I'll look into seeing if it can be removed and go back to parking at the other side of the Tesco's carpark.

I knew I was getting brave parking amongst the riff raff.
