Try and get another quote dude but put your Parents or Girlfreind on the policy as named drivers.
It actually works out cheaper and you will always be fully comp.

I was being quoted £1200 for the Type R third party fire & theft, so I just put my mum & dad on the policy and went fully comp and it saved me £400.

Worth a try for sure mate and it should be cheaper

Thanks mate. I did try that but it turned out a bit more expensive for some reason. Not sure why  I guess i can only wait one more year of being very carful and then when i am 21 i can have some proper cover 8)

Small Update:

Bought a few bits off Ben which came today (Thanks mate :D ) So now i have an OMP front upper strut brace and a pair of G60 disc carriers. After work today i fitted the brace. Looks good but a little bit hidden. Handling seems a little better but i think to fully justify it i would have to crank up the hardness of the coilies 8) Not going to fit the carriers until my current discs and pads have worn out. Otherwise its a bit of a waste of money.

As you can see i also gave the engine a little wash down. Also took a sneaky picture of the olop with his older brother

Thanks guys. I am really trying to save up for some tyres so I can get these RC's on. I have cleaned them all up and given them a coat of seal. I just need a set of 80mm chrome BBS badges and the rubber and im away. Then maybe in the winter i will have them re furbed to new condition :)

Endi_GTI's GTI: Lucky Escape :0

Post by Endi_GTI »

Small update:

Had the GTi in at work the last 2 days doing all the jobs that needed doing. It was quiet in the workshop so had a bit of help. So i have replaced:

- Cambelt
- Tensioners
- Waterpump
- Auxillary drive belt
- CV boots again
- Oil and filter
- Coolant
- The lower arm rear bushes as they were badly worn

Hope you like my precision tools

Then i found this :o

One split tensioner. I am so glad that i found this like this and not the hard way. Don't think it would have lasted much longer at all. So a very lucky escape. So now on the save for tires now that insurance and bits are paid for.... at last

Nice man. Wish I knew and had the facilities to do a lot more things to my car myself.

Gotta get my cambelt done this winter.
