Nothing much happened this weekend due to partying and driving an Ariel Atom

However i did send off my turbo today and after a conversation with them i am unsure if i should fit the VF34 wheel or go with a recommendation of a different one which will make the car faster :?:

VF34 wheel = 320BHP
Other wheel = up to 380BHP

This is getting silly now lol was only meant to be a k03 hybrid good for 260-270BHP

That's what i have been telling myself all day.

But then i keep thinking 320BHP in a FWD car is more than ample.

Dilemma

Jheezzz

I'm looking forward to 280 bhp not 300+!!

Turbo is boxed up ready to go.. Been doing little bits to the polo while it's off the road..

Freshly painted 312mm calipers that I got from modded9n

N new wheels n rubber.. Still need to lower the front more n the back..

This 1.2 corsa is boring me now but it's a good work horse for work :)

Go for the bigger wheel then u can get a smoother power curve. You can have it run 320 hp then wind it up if u want more.

Turbo will be working easier too

Good to hear yours is coming along nicely.
My turbo will be back Thursday so all going well engine back in by the weekend.
Problem I have now is no water hoses as they are with Samco  so god only knows when I may get to drive the car again. Hoping to be done mapped and able to attend GTI international

Now that's a good idea. I will be like having money in the bank for a rainy day.

Up to now I keep telling myself no but as you put it like that I think I may just do it.

Thanks

Yeah turbo dynamics quoted the turbo to take 10 days

That's two weeks!! Its been off the road for ages so I'm sure I can wait a little longer..

Yeah I need mine running mint for gti international... I wanted everything done by then but I can see it being done for them easy :)

Keep up the updates.. Need to order this week : secondary air pump blank from forge and strut braces as I stupidly sold mine with the Intention of selling the car!

Ahh well it's only money at the end of the day

Sounds good. Where is your build thread?
Sure you will find another one at a good price.

Not much to get for you then. Have you book in for a map yet?
Who is mapping it for you?

So after much deliberation I have made the call and gone for the bigger wheel.

Oh my this car is going to be a monster.

To use the full potential I think I need to add an external pump now as I read some where that the 4bar in tank pump gives up at around 350BHP.

May also need some 550cc injectors which I previously had and sold  and not sure how well the forge intercooler will hold up but these can be the tweaks after its all up and running to unleash the full potential. Looking to get it mapped to around 320 so there is some spare go go left in the bank.

Heard that anything over 300bhp in fwd is wasted really. But I'd be interested to see how this all goes man. Still loving the progress! :D

I can see this being the case so with my diff fitted and car mapped to around 320 I will see how I get on. I'm no 1/4 mile man but certainly don't want to be spinning the wheels all the time. Will also be going for a much smoother map than the Revo one I have again to help enjoy as much o the power without having a massive boost spike early in the rev range.

All sounds easy enough when typing but only time will tell once it's up and running.

Yeah the custom maps are the best because you can distribute the power evenly across the range. The custom maps you can always tell because of the smooth curves on the dyno. I mean I've seen things running 320bhp but a lot of them were asking too much from the turbo so it just didn't produce enough torque higher in the boost range. Like I said I'd be interested to see how this all goes! Don't think I'm
Putting you down I may be wrong and I wish you the beat of luck with it. I know I'd do the same regardless of what people told me :p I've seen one of these running 300bhp but not sure what it drove like it was on eBay I wouldn't of cared if of bought it to just say 300bhp polo! So much better when you've done it yourself :D
