Just a quick update of my front grill

I've had all brand new grills in the garage for a long time waiting for mr bumpers to be smoothed but since denting the sill I've decided to do that when I get a full blow over as silver is a hard colour to match so after much grief from a mate wanting my old GTI grills for his 16v I decided to change them the morning of the rolling road and tbh I think it looks so much better I don't know why I haven't done it sooner

It does indeed man!
Just need to sort the rear sharan badge but wanna keep the colour code so gonna find a chrome badge and strip it
And might take the GTI off altogether on the back

So... Not been on here and updated in a while!

A lot has changed over the last few weeks :-)

Me and a mate went to the VW/Audi track day (not on the track just watching)
Took a cheeky snap as I was intruding in the golf GTI stand ;-)

Image

Next was a road trip to Penzance to pick up a mint example of mk2 golf

A tear was brought to my eye on the way there :'(
Image

Image
Was just a loose wire for the sidelight which was fixed there and then

Image

Now to the changes on mine...

Cleaned up the rear light tint to go back all reds :-)
Dont worry the rear VW badge is going back to chrome and possibly oem size but I'll probably take the GTI off as I can't justify the £23 VW want for the rear badge

Image

Next was a bit of vinyl wrapping

And these was offered to me by Phil (P mk4)

Image

So I got all 4 home and waited for time off work to get tyres swapped over

Image

Managed to get half day off work so straight to get tyres swapped :-D

And today I went and tried on some genuine VW roof racks

Image

Image

The roof racks are no longer on there as the noise annoyed me and they sit really high, there so big and chunky

I've also fitted a rear strut brace but have no pictures yet as I'm undecided weather to cut the carpet or not

Over the next few weeks I should be getting the vinyl wrap finished (bootlid and possibly spoiler and door pillars)

And fingers crossed I have enough money to get my Borbet Ts back in time for edition :-D

Looks good dude. I'm rolling my roof bars at the moment as there has been a spot of surf recently but mine are thule and not gen VW. Don't think mine are that chunky. Where they bucklers?

get some thule aero bars with the thule 753 footpack.

i had them on my 6n2 gti and they were great bars, low profile, good looking and barely no noise.

all for under £80 too.

I think I'm gonna give up on the roof racks untill I need some but I might still search around for them dude

Chris there the wheels Phil done for me and they look sweet, I'm in the process of doing my originals and I'll probably get red centres :-)

Unsure when next GTI meet is gonna be, probably after edition now dude.
You should definitely pop down for it tho!

I'm sure we're all keen to gaze at the mk1 :-D
