My Polo has just had its first service.
How much did it cost? They quoted me £163 for the first service (oil change service). I politely told them to jog on with that price. The car is actually on the 2 year maintenance cycle so not too necessary anyway.
I've no idea, I bought the 2 services pack from VWFS. Got 2 services for £300 - 1 major and 1 minor. On our second GTI+ it was £199 for same 2 services.
Very sly of VW to do away with physical service books. No proof of service to sell privately. I'll keep the paperwork instead for each one.
If you're under the long life service, you'll be looking to get an oil change and inspection combined service, guessing it'll be about £260.
If your car is still under a year old, you can buy a service pack from VWFS for £300 or £16.50 a month x 18 months.

Looks like you activated GTI Scheme for the virtual dash. I only got mine back to this yesterday after the garage did a software update and put the non-GTI one on.
You can have any of these!!!!

It is not possible to change the dials based on driving mode.
Dials can be changed via coding in obdeleven or VCDS
OBDeleven the dials can be changed by:
Dashboard
Adaptation
Scroll to the bottom to tube_version
0 default
1-5 different clocks
6-F looked the same as default
These are the instructions of the Golf and may differ on the Polo. I have not tested but can confirm this evening if you want

Dark_cze: Align the boot doors?
Did your tailgate not close properly like mine, which needed a slam to close it? The strike plate that the tailgate latches into was set about 4mm further back than it should've been. I adjusted mine back out and tweaked the overall closed alignment by adjusting the rubber bungs on the bootlid. If yours was hard to close, did you check for minor paint chips on the bottom edge of the tailgate.
I have just painted my aluminium replacement paddles in matt black. I wlll take pics when I have fitted them. I was in 2 minds about the bright aluminium finish when I fitted them, having a bit of buyers regret at the time. I think they look much better now.
My car was in for its first service on Tuesday and all went well. Last night I was parking the car and expecting the wing mirror tilt to happen so I could see the kerb when I engaged reverse and...nothing. I looked at the wing mirror control knob and it is set to heating. On a really warm week here in the UK, what imbecile at the garage decides to set the wing mirrors to heating?!?
Been driving around with heated wing mirrors for 3 days. Hoping they automatically cut out after a few minutes of use.

I changed this on my Golf, but in reality, the range of adjustment is tiny between early and late - the lights still come on in mildly overcast conditions.

monkeyhanger: yes I had to slam them when it was 30C and I meant that striker plate (sorry didn't know how it is called). I also tried to play with lock position on boot doors (there is few mm play when screews are loose). Looked for any paint chipping but I have only few scratches on edge of doors and bumber. I will se how good job I did when sun will start shine again.

but they will close with gravity on they own now
And I also forgot heated mirrors for few days

they are allright and heating is working

Had a dash cam fitted by VW this morning. Didn't trust myself to mess around with things, they've done a brilliant job in all fairness.
Whilst in the showroom the Golf GTI TCR really caught my eye. It was in grey and looked stunning (minus the weird decals on the side), seats were also incredibly comfortable. Hefty price tag though, £39,000!
Sat in a Golf R as well and was quite shocked at how bland it was inside. Guessing it's great to drive though!

It's a bland drive unless you're wringing its neck. It's so capable and drama-free. We want to be safe, but feel a bit unsafe at the same time for thrills- it's like being more scared on a rickety old rollercoaster than a super smooth one that goes twice as fast. It's got 100ps more, but is also 200kg heavier. About 0.8s of it's 0-62 advantage is down to 4wd traction. Once rolling the mid range of the Polo isn't hugely behind.

Fiddled around with OBDeleven tonight.. made a couple of changes to my AID. I really like version 1, but 2 and 4 are good as well. The standard red version 3 is ugly.
Changed speedo final value to a more reasonable 260, rather than the stock 280. (There’s even a 300 version

)
I also coded 10s instead of 20s steps on the speedo! IMHO much more usable in daily driving.

Interested in this.
OBDeleven uses a credits system to use some of their one-click changes.
Are these AID changes included in the preset options and if so, how many credits does it take to use them?

These edits I did here, do not require the use of "apps" that costs credits.
You need to change settings in the "Adaptions" part of the "Dashboard (module 17)". In order to do this however, you need to have unlocked the 'pro' version of OBDeleven. Once you know which bits to change, you can change them endlessly to your hearts content
Should I create a small guide?
