Seats always look better with carpet on the back, good job verity...!

Also I'm a big fan of the way you write your updates, funky pictures and dates for everything. Will be good to look back on in the future.

Thank you!! It's a much lighter grey then the actual carpet, but it'll deffinatly do for now
Yeah pretty thin, I brought some self adhisive carpet, and its seemed to have stuck really really nicely to all the little grooves

Thank you! I know some people don't like it, prefer the gloss black of the seats, but mine were slightly scratched, and it looks good what with the rest of the boot carpeted

I cant for the life of me find the BMC part number for the Elbow but it does have its own unique number.
If you email them and just ask for a parts list for the BMC kit for the Polo GTI i'm sure they will be able to help you

If memory serves the throttle body on the GTI is 70mm

Think there 68mm, when I got my mikalor clamps that's the size i got and found it was all good...
Surly any decent brand elbow will be better won't it? I would suggest getting the boost clamps I got aswell as there much better than jubilee clamps, they tend to open up when clamped up tight I find..

Yeah 68mm but the 2mm additional is just for clearance of the pipe
The BMC is the best 90 elbow IMO because its small, allows the filter to sit straight, clears the inlet manifold and sits really tight on the throttle body.

You dont really need to go very tight with the Jubilee clips with the BMC elbow because the fitment is perfect.
Kam Racing supplied me with an SFS hose originally which was awful, far too big & tall, it was about 75-76mm in diameter too lol

Carpet looks awesome on the seats! Mite have to steal that idea when I start on the interior but don't worry credit will be given :-p

My engine bay looks awful I think lol not cleaned it since I got it lol

As most of you guy know (good ol' Facebook ) I have just turned 22

I had planned on sorting out all my insurance and tax today. To have my little polo back on the road as a present to myself
Unfortunatly last week my boyfriends mum passed away. which of course put a hault on everything, so I haven't looked into insurance as much as I should have by now.

Direct Line arnt helping either by being b*ggers. They've been holding 2 years of my no claims bonus hostage for the past three months (takes three months for a case to close....even tho I just enquiried and didn't actually claim) I was told on the 2nd of March the 3 months would be up and I'd get a letter thru the post with my no claims on.
Received a letter today along with my birthday cards, and inside was a 'claims form' I phoned and asked why they'd sent this instead of my no claims, and the really annoying chap on the phone said I need to fill it out to back up my phone call back in December. I told him I said originally I wasn't claiming, and he said I had to do it anyway. I wouldn't have cared if they'd sent it out three months ago when I originally phoned. But instead they send it up 3 months later. A day before they should be giving me my no claims back. Just seems like here stalling, it's like punishment because I decided not to renew my contract with them.

I hope by the end of the week to have sorted a few things out with the car - being getting it back on the road and giving him a little present I've had planned for a few weeks....Oh and also a clean! I popped home earlier to see my parents and it looks like the birds knew I've not been home and decided to start using him as a litter tray!!

Insurance companies are basically the scum of the earth, one thing they hate is people cancelling their insurance despite everybody being entitled to do it!
I had difficulties when I bought my Type R because I needed the No claims off my GTI and it was nightmare getting it all sorted, took several weeks but fortunately every came through in the end but lots of swear words were exchanged

Hope you get it all sorted soon Verity bet your itching to get the GTI back on the road

Thank you, she's even ill for quite some time, but it's still a shock, and really hard coming to terms with. Keeping busy seems to be key at the moment....washing th cars everyday and stuff

They really are!! Jack used to be with Direct Line. When he changed insurance, DL lied twice about sending out his no claims. In the end his new insurance company phoned them up and said 'I'm not hanging up the phone until you have faxed his no claims through and I have it in my hands'

Insurance update

Phoned Direct Line this morning to get my no claims sorted. 

The chap puts me on hold and contacts the Other Party's insurance, to make sure they didnt want to claim- Fine i thought. If the guy didnt want to give me money to fix my car, hes no gonna be willing to part in the long term with 10x as much.

He comes back to me and says "theyve decided to go thru with the claim"

I ask the guy why they have the right to do this when I was the one that originally phoned, and that I never actually processed a claim....All I did was phone up an enquire.

The chap appologizes and says that if I didn't want to go through with the claim, letters to the others insurance should never have been sent!!!

I tell him sorry isn't good enough, as I will now get screwed over cos they 'made a misake' 

He says my best option to save my no claims, is to full pay for the other persons car - D:< WTF!!!

10 mins later I phone DL back, with a list of info I need to get (which Jack wrote down for me)
Ie. complaints contact number, name of people who 'mistakenly'' sent out the letters and so on.
I speak to a lady who tells me they arnt in fact in the wrong!
 And even I'd I don't want to claim. I'm meant to phone and tell them about damage to the car. And that as soon as you tell them it registers as a claim......well the lady I first spoke to didn't say this! And Infact told me to not bother claiming! And the guy 10 mins earlier said that non of this should have gone thru if I didn't want to!!

So I'm either being told lies, or no one knows what they're on about!

1/2 later I phone again and get the details of the other party's insurance company. Phone them and they say that they have left a message for their client. But havny actually heard from them yet. - so again. I'm being lied to!

 ---- well obviously not if their own insurance company havny even heard from them yet!!! 

I'm stuck in limbo at the moment. I was So So excited about getting my car back on the road. and now I've got to battle this out! 

I feel like DL are playing a board game and are using me as a chess piece! They just want to fight this to get money. When there's nothing to fight! Both cars are fixed. It should end there. But no....  

This sounds like an absolute nightmare!!!! Hope you get sorted soon Verity x
