05.03.2012 - Stealth Shelf

Re-fabriced my stealth Shelf. it's nothing special. But just looks better then before and hopefully a bit more OEM
The original fabric was some crappy black stuff from Halfords (felt horrible). Glued on with some crappy glue spray, that jack did at his ripspeed desk when he work there lol. So it's basically been peeling off for forever and generally a bit rubbish
Used the same stuff that I did my rear seats with. So again it's a horrible colour match. But again it'll do for the time being.
Jacks got a 5ltr container of fabric dye (god knows where from. Just turned up in the kitchen one day lol) and has suggest I use that but it do for now :)

Before
I didn't take any photos of it before. As I completely forgot lol. But I found this one from ages ago. And you can just about see the fabric peeling off.

After

(the fabric comes in a roll- which gets folded in half so terr Agee creases. But theyve should fall out over time. Already looking better then they did)

Re: Verity's Reflex Silver GTI -Mega Progress with insurance

Post by Verity »

Thank you for the comments guys!!!

PROGRESS WITH INSURANCE - most deffinatly gettting lied to!

Spoke to direct line apparently they sent out a letter some time in the last 3 months asking if I wanted to claim. As I didn't reply they carried on with the claim.

1. I never received this letter. I'm really organised and keep all my letters in folders so I'm postitive ive had no letter from them.

2. Why did no one mention this letter before. In any of my phone calls in which I told them all I wasn't claiming

3. Surely sending out a letter and saying 'if you ignore this we will presume your NOT claiming' would make more sense.

Anyway feeling like I was still getting no where and tesco still claiming they havnt heard from their client I decided to go around to the people's house (they live round the block from my boyfriend)

And.........

Surprise surprise. They arnt claiming against me!!!
Infact they were both really nice and we had a good long chat about it all.

They said to their insurance that they were completely at fault!! And left it at that thinking that it had all gone thru insurance -when it hadn't!

They started a new policy in Jan and have been paying a higher amount because of everything- even tho no insurance company have paid out a penny!!!
I told them i never claimed as i would loose my no claims and it just wasn't worth it.

They are phoning their instance tomoro and im phoning mine.
hopefully they can get there insurance down (and a refund for all the needless extra money theyve spent) And I can get my bloomin no claims back!!!

Omg I'm giddy!!!!

I still think DL will try their hardest to come up with some other excuse. But lets face it. They can't hold my no claims for a claim that never went thru. And I have proof they've lied to me about this whole thing- which I LOVE! Muhahahah

"they've decided to claim against you"
Nooooo they haavvvnnntttttt!!!

I am so so happy!! Kindda gutted that I still ended up paying out for my wingmirror even tho they admitted full fault. (actually kinda shows how useless DL have been....hmmm might mention that tomoro)
But I soo just want this all over with and out the way that it doesn't really matter.
Can't wait to make this phone call!!

Always nice to get one over an insurance company!

Well done Verity! Be as vicious as you can on the phone and demand a written apology.
Just threaten them with trading standards or worse...........ANNE ROBINSON :)

Insurance Companies are and always will be pure SLIME!

Hahah Anne Robinson would be a good one ;)
I will be writting a nice long complaints letter to them very soon ;)
Was all geared up to hit them with 'trading stanards' and 'small claims court' and all that jazz.but...

Jut phoned them up. Took great pleasure in telling the girl the story and pointing out all the lies lol
She just kinda went 'urghhhh' a lot and then said a bit nurvously tht she'll phone he other insurance company.

Got a phone call back 10 mins later 'I've phoned the other parties insurance and they can confirm they arnt claiming. So te case is now closed' ------finally! what I expected to hear a week ago!!!
I then spoke to another lady who did a lot of key board tapping and said tht she's now arranged for my no claims to be sent out! It should be in my hands by next week!! (probably wont. But still. I'm happy for now ;) )

Back to work today (been off the last week for my birthday) so I best look into a battery for the polo as I let it go flat over the past 2 weeks :(

Omgimsostupidlyhappyimgettingmypoloback!!!!

Well is seems the Universe is completely against me getting the polo back on the road!
I have had every distraction and problem thrown at me

So Saturday I decided 'today is the day the car is finally going to be back on the road' and that I would do everything in my power to do this...

10.03.2012

Got up transferred some life savings into my halifax saver.

Went to town and got money out
Walked up to Lloyds and they were shut.

Got in the car and drove to Worcester (next main shopping town over) - HATE driving in Worcester on Saturdays :/

Walked to Lloyds and put money in my debit bank account.

Went to Halfords and brought a new battery.

Went home.

Found all my insurance quotes had expired and changed, and gone up by quite a bit.

Spent 1/2hour looking for new quotes.

Found one that doesn't charge extra for paying monthly (was originally going to pay all up front to save £200 extra for pay monthly)
This did however been my trip to the bank was pointless as I did had enough money in there anyway as I was only going to now pay a deposit rather then the whole lot.

Put battery in car.

Went and got fuel for the car as it was completly dry.

Went on Internet to sort car tax. - DVLA couldn't find my insurance as it can take up To 24hours for it to appear on their system - D'OH!!!!
So close!!!

11.03.2012

Ultimate Dubs!!!!

Got me right in the mood for giving the polo some love.

Went home and taxed the car!!

Straight down to Jacks and gave GTI a good wash down

I havnt really stopped smiling since!

I had fallen out of love with him (for about 2 days out of frustration with Direct Line) but now I'm whole heartily in love with him again and can't wait to start having some fun with him again!
