Hello Ciclo,
You did an great job to modified/upgrade your polo.
My question about this lights from touareg is the size of the lights.
how big is the hole we have to cut?
how is the brightness between KT1 and KW2?
with kind regards

Hallo master991
Original hole
Images thanks to drive2.ru (Russia forum).
My way
Video image
The square hole cut (19x13) should be perfect, then adjust with needle file set (bit to bit) until the structure fits tight (check again and again during filing). The light fastening tabs fit perfectly in this/my panels (click).
The work must be done by the interior/non-visible part of the panels. Never use the tools from the visible part of the panel (risk of scratching the panel), i.e, don't introduce any tool through the square hole from the visible part of the panel.
It's easy to do, requires patience and precision.
By other side, the best way to know the difference between one light and another is by buying them and doing a test with a power source. (about 10€ each)
Without any scientific precision I would say that KT1 is 25-35% brighter.
The next video is an example:
I did several tests with different lights, in the dark and with daylight, but my camera does not accurately capture the dim lights in the dark. (when I try to record it to make a video I get angry by the results of the recording )
I still can not make an assessment about the brightness of this lights once installed. It's the beginning of a project that is in relation with others due to the electrical installations (wires, panels, etc), so it will take me a long time* for all the projects to be finished.
* Considering that I'm now on vacation and the space/time to do these mods is more relative than ever (E = mc2).
Without information (VCDS autoscan) it's not possible to help ... Please, make your questions in the 6R section, you will have more chances of someone answering your question. Thanks.

Thanky you ciclo for your answer.
The problem is that the polo 6R door panels are to small in dickness too use der OEM VW golf door warning lights and also for the audi A1 door warning light.
This lights (7P6 xx) are small enough to use it for door warning light ala AUDI A1.
One last question.
Is it posssible to disassamble the clear light body from the black light body ?
If yes, I will try to change the colour to red (with red shutter paper/folie).
with kind regards

It seems possible, ... I just checked and it seems that it's very tight ...
It has two tabs on one side and a tab on the other that fits in the body.
Maybe it would be possible to replace the LED with the color you like ...?
I was sort of hoping you'd replace the 12V there with a white one from a Golf 7 and make the ambient light there white

Well, I love red tones (even if it looks old).
I think it will be a good combination (well differentiated) with the rest of the ambient lights in white. Maybe I'm wrong ...

Sorry for this scheme.
ciclo,
center console buttons have 3 and 6 pin as +ve and -ve.
However your diagram shows "P Heated Seat LHD" with 1 and 4 as +ve and -ve. Is this a typpo?
shouldn't it be pin 3 and 6?

1 and 4 are correct for the switch located to the right of the dashboard. (ground, and 58 or 58d)
In some ELSA diagrams (not all) there is an error for the definition of the pins dedicated to the feeding of the right and left seats. This is due to the simple fact that there are RHD and LHD cars.
I just want to remember that the switches (ETKA) are the same for both.
This is not a major problem, you can exchange terminals T16/15 and T16/16 in the control unit connector (J774) if you buy Kufatec wiring and the buttons don't correspond to the seats.
It's advisable to check the wiring with the multimeter before installation.

6R Heated seats unit installed. A difficult image to find.
I hope to find one or two correct clips (1J0937510A) . At the VW dealer it only is selling if you buy 50 units (clips) ... what the ...
Today I reveiced the lamps 7P6 919 390A KT1.
I have planed to use this lamps for door warning lamp (ala Audi A1) in my polo 6R.
They are small enough for the door panels in the polo.
Now I have modified the lamp, change the colour to red --> look at the pictures.
The qualitiy of the lamps are very cheap about the price of these lamps .
The KT1 lamp is the brightess version, had only one LED/SMD and ist very dark.
The conector have 4 pins but only 2 pins are in use (pin1 is ground; pin2 is +).
Now I am go to vacation so I have no time to install the lamps (need a working car ), I hope after end of the holidays.
