No turbo either by the looks of itdxg wrote:That's what I'm thinking. More car for less money. No GTI badge, but the rest should be more or less the same (I'm guessing the Jetta's ride will be softer). Bit of a Q-car in the making there...mfa-polo wrote:The jetta seems to be good value

Don't get me wrong I love my Golf to bits, I just fancy a few more gadgets etc, and some more power at foot.mfa-polo wrote:Changing already?tom_mk5 wrote:Either a Mk5 Golf GTI (I love my Golf to bits, so the GTI would be awesome), or an Audi A4 2.0T S-Line.
Looking to change around June/July.

I dont want to let go of my Polo GTi for a while yet. I recently drove a brand new Polo SE with a few extras and I couldn't wait to get back in my GTi. The build quality has got worse with the Polo (doesnt even have gas struts to hold the bonnet up wtf?).
I will need something of equivalent spec or better, which also has a beautiful interiour and subtle tweaks to the outside of the car that make it look nice. So its either:
Audi S3
Mk5 Golf GTi
Atm its a non-issue, i couldn't afford insurance on either cars but i think id go for the golf, asssuming they don't get too popular. One thing i like about my GTi is that there is only 3 thousand of them in the Uk.

Ive had a 6n2 gti and have now got a 9n tdi, and I would say that the build quality is better on the 9n.andyg wrote:I dont want to let go of my Polo GTi for a while yet. I know what you mean though, VW are always looking at cost cutting, e.g. changing the spec of cars (struts, puddle lights, etc, etc).
At the end of the day though all car companies seem to do this!
I dont think its accurate to say that the build quality of the new polo has got worse, all the vws are well built and put some more expensive cars.
Sorry if it seems like im ranting!
