standard they're only like 8.1s 0-60..not that impressive for a turbo

but it would still whip a gti.

if i had a pound for everytime someone says in a sales advert for one 'needs new turbo' or 'turbo recently replaced' i'd be into a tidy sum of money by now

I agree, what the book says and what you can actually do it in are usually two different things.

ModifiedMadness: Instead of being smug and posting a pic of what it says in your manual, perhaps should have noticed the revision stamp on the reverse. There are 2 different manuals kicking about, one relates to the older ARC engine, the other the ARY.

I wasn't being smug, if you'd have said that in the first place I'd have known.

I didn't know there was two versions, I also don't think there is a revision stamp on my manual and it's the AVY engine.

Now you've posted that one as well I know that the newer ones are 8.7 and the older ones 8.9

Even so, they're quicker than VW say, which shows they need a new test driver

As I say, I wasn't being smug just posting the information available to me, any idea where I can get the other one from (with the 8.7)

Alright :)

My friend works at Listers VW so I will ask about the manual but I think it has to go through parts as a special order, I tried to get hold of an original brochure and they are out of print now (ebay best option) so I think chances are the older manuals are too.

polopowah: magnets for trolls too, stiring things up.
