i told my insurance it was a performance air filter that helped filter the air better therefore making it cleaner and leading to a healthier engine and no insurance premium rise woooo!!!!!

lol and the insurance companies bought it? lol.. thats mint!!... for people who have modified their cars.. and 18 or under.. (or around that age)... how did you get insured? No insurance companies will touch me coz its been modified!! (sorry to hijack this thread with insurance :S looked everywhere on this forum, and no help

yeah m8, i'll be honest, i haven't declared a single thing

and i had a Â£2,000 crash the other day and my insurance is still valid.

mind you, the induction kit wasn't fitted at that point.

my K&N one doesnt increase performance, so i thought, why bother declaring?! but thats probably not avizable.

To be honest though, im not the best person to speak to about it, coz compared with everyone else on here, mine is barely modded.

only real things ive done are rear lights and induction. the rest is just simple stuff. I fitted the induction kit for free with the help of a mate. and i get GSF from a Portsmouth Based VW owners club,

mainly saxos, 106s, punto's and old clios, coz they're the only feezable victory. Any golf's who roll up are denied the right to race with me!!!

but still, nice to know im not the only one who rags it around, thought my crash would stop me, alas...

I didn't declare for a while, then my parents found out it voided my insurance so I declared the 17''s with locking wheel nuts, lowered 35mm (although wee bit more on the front, cough:50mm:cough) and tints. How much did my insurance go up per year?? Â£66 lol - didnt think there was much point in the induction kit, can always wap it off if need be.

I'd say its performance exhausts that'll put ur insurance up lol, induction kits dont really increase performance just make a quality noise from what iv heard. So get one on ur car, Iv just ordered mine!

How much does it cost for lowering? N what ride height wud be best?

totally depends on what style ur after, but more importantly, what wheels you have,

i have the original 14" steels and trims on mine, and lowering it 60mm would get the tyres in the arches.

Cost depends on what you want, springs alone are cheap, but will wear out the rest of your kit quicker, then theres a full suspension kit, and then finally coilovers, which will lower you the most.

For fitting a full kit i was quoted something like Â£160 for 4 hours work!?

Yeh I have the origional 14s aswell. I dont wanna go too low, but its gotta be done. Can i just lower the back? Cus my front is scraping the speed bumps lol.
